.mobi poll

Hey all, I think this can be interesting and hopefuly keep things in one place. Anyway lets see what you really feel about .mobi I listed 5 fair voting options.

At least this more of a civilized way to see how everyone really feels about .mobi. And please no going after one another on this. This thread is not about that, I just think it will be interesting how the percentages of the voting are with the members.

Cast your vote!
Please Keep this Peacefull!

Thanks all,
Biff

Although I don't think it should be posted in the Discussion forum (it's supposed to be in Dot Mobi, where it was originally posted and resides now), I think you'll receive a very different response if it were voted on by people outside the Dot Mobi forum. I never check the Dot Mobi forum (unless there's a questionable post that needs a-deletin'), and only voted because I saw it linked on the front page.

Way to go, biff...

...Keep this poll bookmarked - and re-post it in, say, 3 years...Be fascinating to see how your questions stack up then, as compared to now...

I was thinking the same thing, many of the people that dont like mobi are never going to look in this forum. On the other hand I found the results rather interesting that even in the mobi forum it is far from universally popular.

Not a bad Idea, also may if this is possible, leave it here for a couple more days and then move it to the open and lets see how the results change?

It could be very interesting to view, but only if it is alowed? Then can be moved back in a week or some kind of time and be open for discussion in the .mobi forum? just an idea

Thanks,
Biff

Well, I won't say I feel vindicated by the above comments (coming from NP staff); I have tried a number of times to place a poll in the general discussion section in order to get a true reflection of what the non-mobi nuts are thinking... but as we all know, any mention of the word gets hijacked & driven at gunpoint over to the mobi discussion; where the predictable poll results are pretty meaningless... it's obvious the poll will show a similar result as it would if you polled the Turkeys about scrapping "Thanks Giving" / Xmas ;-)

Just my two cents.... I don't think the mobile internet "NEEDS" dotmobi at all, what the mobile web really NEEDS is compliant sites...
But I think the advertisers, the promoters, the marketing guys really do NEED the branding & identity that dotmobi gives them...

So I do believe that dotmobi will thrive simply due to the USP of the TLD...

Yes -- I understand -- and I hate that it has to be that way, but that's just the way it is. I'm sure you're well aware of what happens when we take it outside of Mobi-ville.

Perhaps you can create an external poll (a mobile-compliant one?) and link to it from your signature here. I'm trying to find an alternative for you that won't step on people's toes.

I agree that the mobile web needs more complaint sites. If anything, .mobi will stimulate that: nobody is going to build a site meant for a PC on a .mobi (I hope). Only time will tell.
