The adult domain names to be auctioned at this event are naked.mobi and
the highly anticipated porn.mobi while the entertainment and hobby names
include broadway.mobi, cards.mobi, geneology.mobi, hollywood.mobi,
lottery.mobi, tickets.mobi and vegas.mobi.

Other names to be auctioned are banks.mobi, doctor.mobi, floods.mobi,
property.mobi, and score.mobi.
Everyone knows I'm not much of a fan but these are Some of the best ones yet "IMO".

Hi all,
is there a (simple) way for a non-us seller to try to apply for his (premium, adult and non adult) .mobi names to be listed in that auction?

Yes, there is same way to submit your domains for any Moniker`s auction for US and non-US sellers. I`ll send you PM how to do it.

The submission date for that particular auction has long passed. But you can still submit for the next one following that (late May).

A relevant question in a general sense --- how much progress has been made in resolving the Sedo auction issues?

If there is still a big problem then it will have a negative impact, however if those Sedo domains are on their way to being happy healthy mobi websites then that would have a positive effect. -- Interesting that with the dev requirement, past auctions raise the value of domains in future auctions.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=427815

Anyway, I pushed the envelope with my guess on Games.mobi so why not. It's not my money anyway. I would say Porn.mobi breaks the 1 million mark, say $1,085,000.

Take that, New York Times!

I am not going to post a thread for this because it is two weeks old, but I missed it if this was posted here - and I cannot find a thread about it.

There was an offer of a resolution to the Sedo mess from mTLD about two weeks ago:
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=427815
http://dotmobi.typepad.com/dotmobi/2...i-communi.html

From the comments it looks like there are many names that will now be sold and developed. Music.mobi is going to Constantine, the first winner, because Alvaro has ceded it to him. The first segment winners who lost in the second segment are being offered substitutes, however it appears that they won't know what they are getting until after they have paid for it. I can see why that would not be acceptable.

So anyway there is partial resolution, but there are still ruffled feathers.

Music.mobi is apparently going to Constantine for the second segment high bid of $616K.

If Alvaro wants games.mobi at the second segment high bid then he gets it, if he chooses to not take it then it goes to the first segment high bidder at the second segment price. MTLD is trying to lock down the higher second segment bids while trying to buy off the first segment bidders with substitutes appraised by Sedo to be of equal value - the buyers do not know what domain they get until after they have paid - which is not going to fly.

Several of the bidders have left heated comments - and someone stuck in a query asking why Google is not using their .Mobi, seeing they are a "backer" of mTLD and all.

A really fine group of names there for ANY extension.

Not going to predict any dollar figures for porn.mobi, etc at this point given my Superbowl pick ... ... and likely primary election outcome ... ...

Porn.mobi isn't sex.mobi but I think north of $700,000 and quite possibly it may be the 1st 7 figure DotMobi...

Can't wait! - lets hope the global recession doesn't knock everything sideways!

Folks...About that Premium domain Sedo auction fiasco of Dec 5th 2008...

As one that has been very closely, and actively, involved since the beginning, I can verify that things have moved on behind the scenes quite a long way since the info (2 weeks ago) that accentnepal posted above.

Please note that the speculation on outcomes in some of the posts above may not necessarily be accurate....Neither mTLD - nor anyone else directly involved - has made any public statement on this matter since mTLD's proposal to bidders, and since the bidder's Roundtable proposal to mTLD.....For the simple reason that matters have yet to be finalised.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=427815

Having said that - You'll appreciate that the silence you hear is the sound of confidential discussion....I can verify to you that very significant progress is being made in resolving issues arising from that whole auction fiasco on Dec 5 2007.

Its a complex situation - and there is a way to go yet - but, I have very solid reasons to use the words 'very optimistic' to describe the current status, and the outlook, for this matter, for all concerned.

I suggest patience for a little longer....

Very glad to hear this. The auction has been worrisome for several reasons, and while, of course, it's effects are far more serious to those directly involved, it also is a serious issue to the future of the extension, and all of us who have invested in it.
