cant transfer for 30 days?

both of the registrars i use have a policy that i can't transfer a domain for at least 30 days after registered (or changed contact info)....is this standard?

Transfer-wise, yes (in fact many registrars do it for 60-days)

Contact-change wise, no, that's over the top. Which doesn't stop GoDaddy (and I think NetSol now) from doing it (but they are in hot water with ICANN because of that, so things should change soon, one hopes)
