Guess this hasnt been mentioned because it is India but a very large news org in India has gone mobile in several different languages on several different portals. See article below. FYI oneindia.in is roughly 1750 in Alexa.

I understand that India has 7O+% of its population in Agricultural sector. Constituting about 1/4 of GNP and is an all important part of the economy.
This is just a thought but, if someone were to start a .mobi site dedicated to that sector. With topics suchs as cropping patterns-rotations, irrigation ( since
monsoon is an important part of irrigation-the weather forecast would be vital), crop prices, seed prices, as well as a platform to connect with buyers
and increasing the chances for the farmers to get higher crop prices would be really good. In due time I'm sure such sight would be created.
