I'm loving .tv these days as well and gave two domains out for birthday presents recently. Both loved them and thought the .tv name would definitely help their respective business plans well beyond the third-rate .coms they had been using.

| NamePros Regular | August has been really good for .mobi. AAA.mobi, AXA.mobi, Edelman.mobi, and now Zagat.mobi all garnering publicity, and BofA.mobi (Bank of America) putting their money on banners and brochures all featuring their .mobi. Nice post, Salty. Rep added.

| Retired© | They have long embraced PDA and mobile technologies and promoted "Zagat To Go", IMHO. Link: http://mobile.zagat.com/index.php?hid=ztg_footer_ns Zagat.mobi ... is also promoted in a flash ad on the .COM site, as well! ![]() Substance. -Jeff

| NamePros Regular | The little article is on the front page of that section and on the top left. Very hard to miss even if you don't read that section of the newspaper. USA Today is the the 3rd largest paper in the world in number of readers and 1st in the U.S. This may be the best publicity for a .mobi website to date. |

I wouldn't be surprised to see some television commercials coming for BofA.mobi and some of the others.

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | See, I think what is happening here is that corps are realizing the branding potential of .mobi. zagat.mobi just sounds cool, and it's clean and tells you exactly what it is. zagat.com/mobile just doesn't have the same ring to it.

| www.LLLL.com Forum Moderator | Just checked out their .com and was greeted by 2 .mobi ads The first ad about .mobi (the smaller one) says "presented by visa signature". Hmm, does this mean Visa is finally stepping up to the plate and assuming their "backer" role we were told about a few months back? |

Neil Edwards alluded to that Visa/Zagat relationship in his blog post, but without specificity... zagat.mobi launched today. One of the mobile content categories I've been hoping to see a lot more of -- restaurants -- is finally here. Even cooler is that they're testing the mobile marketing waters with Visa Signature aboard for an exclusive two-month mobile advertising flight. This will be an interesting case to watch for mobile advertising acceptance since the Zagat information is already well-tailored to a mobile context.

| NamePros Regular | I don't want to put a damper on this great publicity for .mobi, but has anyone tried using zagat.mobi on their phone? I just did and I can not get out of an endless loop. I tell it what city, then I have a selection of restaurant categories. I select any of the categories, then it want's me to select a city. I select the city again, then it shows me the categories again, and so on and so on. |
