On the plus side, it motivated me to register two more geos on my list: WacoTexas.mobi and WacoTX.mobi

Registering these CityState names is really reaching, I think.

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | Do what you want, I'm just giving my opinion that in most cases it is reaching. I would take HollywoodCA though, that would be an exception in my book. I live 30 minutes from Oceanside. It is growing, but it is basically a very small city that wouldn't warrant a reg with the state attached. Again, just giving my honest opinion.

Sure, developed properly OceansideCA.mobi COULD be successful. But I don't think that's why the OP reg'd it. So could "oside.mobi" or "myoceanside.mobi" or "youroceanside.mobi". If you're developing, you can get anything to be successful. Get my point?

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | LOL, I'm not here to debate the real estate market. But prices are down, and lots on the market not moving right now. That's happening all over the country, but particularly here because the market was artificially inflated with all of the RE speculation of the past 5 years or so.

Anyone who bought last year or the year before is messed up because after the big fire from Ramona through Scripps Ranch and down into Mexico 3 (?) years ago the prices all artificially doubled and tripled. Since this isn't piggington.com I'll ease off the real estate stuff lol. Oceanside is a pretty cool place. The surfer's museum is there, the pier is cool (don't need a fishing license to fish), and it's got a real beachy feel especially near 101. Don't waste the domain name - go ahead and develop if you can. It's only fitting my 100th post is about a place with a surfing museum lol.

my oceanside - 356 yahoo your oceanside - 1,170 yahoo Oceanside CA - 2.4Mil yahoo Oceanside NY - 428K yahoo knock your self out developing, but I can see which I would go with. But in reference to my query - And what if there are multiple cites, like Albany NY, Albany GA, Hollywood CA, Hollywood FLA, etc. I guess they don't deserve to have a site about them, because someone else is using the one word term?? What if Oceanside was used as a site for homes, beaches, activites to do etc? Does that mean that city can't have a .mobi or .com or .whatever site, because someone grabbed the name first. - 'Do what you want', doesn't answer the question, and won't be much of help to those, especially noobies, that may also find mulitple geo cities with like names.

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | Hawkeye, I suggest you do some more research: "Oceanside California" - Wordtracker prediction: 127/day "Oceanside CA" - Wordtracker prediction: 0/day I don't know how that translates into millions of Yahoo search results.

Not only that, but it just doesn't make sense that 5400 people per month search for "Oceanside CA" on Yahoo.
