| Senior Member | Neil says sex.mobi is coming Here's a copy of Neil Edwards latest blog just released: "August 21, 2007 sex.mobi To Go On Sale, And More Have you seen the zagat.mobi or AAA.mobi going live this week? Weather.mobi's service is really cool and a testament to a major brand making a decision between m.myname.com (or myname.com/mobile or mobile.myname.com) and myname.mobi. We are poised to break 700,000 names under management very soon. More significantly, both small and big brands are putting their content live on a daily basis. Check our the showcase page to see examples and case studies. Also, have you checked out the mobile site builder which recently went live with Network Solutions' BuildMyMobi.com? Registrars everywhere are embracing the mobile hosting and content creation opportunity in a big way for the coming year. Hopefully, your company will not miss out. More after the jump... I recently read some postings that dotMobi is doing nothing with its reserved and premium names. "Hogwash," as they say down south. dotMobi released its city names program several weeks ago and it's now live. Any city government with a commercial sponsor may request their cityname.mobi. The simple rules and application are on the dotMobi web site. We had a tremendous response already and a great success with the Helsinki.mobi test case back in June. Also, dotMobi will release 500 premium names -- yes, including sex.mobi -- through several venues. You can count on the fact that these valuable names will be sold and usable content will be created for the mobile consumer in the coming months. If you are a brand manager or a domainer, then you need to get ready for the sale of the dotMobi premium names. You also need to know how to build mobile content or you will not be an eligible buyer. Finally, I would be remiss not to mention growth of the developer forum, http://dev.mobi. Just a few months after its launch, there are more than 3,000 members in the dev.mobi developer community. Services like ready.mobi, dotMobi Developer Certification, our Developer Guide, coding examples, and testing tools are used by mobile developers on a daily basis. The latest version of ready.mobi will crawl every page of your mobile site, then give you a report and tell you how to improve your site for free. If you develop software for a mobile, then you should be using dev.mobi everyday. Best of all, it is free. (I wish I had these tools when I was doing client/server programming in the early '90s.) Of course, dotMobi investors such as Telecom Italia, Vodafone, Telefonica, Nokia, Google, Microsoft, Visa, and others continue to turn on the dotMobi platform of tools and services for their products and services. dotMobi is on the move in a big way. I look forward to give you more updates in the coming weeks. -- Neil Edwards, CEO, dotMobi Posted by Neil Edwards on August 21, 2007 at 03:36 PM" URL |

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | OK, if what he says actually happens, 500 RFP's going live, that will be tremendous news. If the backers start doing their thing, that will be stupendous news as well. If all this happens by the end of the year, I will be very happy with that progress.

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | I think it's nice that Neil Edwards is responding to the RFP issue and giving us a heads up as to what's coming soon. Sounds like they are really listening to the replies to the blogs and doing what they can to be reassuring. And, Zagat.mobi is a very big deal too. So is AAA.mobi. It's a good sign that major corps just keep on coming and choosing .mobi for their mobile presence! All in all, it's a good week on the .mobi front.

... Just now hearing the latest, and checking in quickly here while on vacation ... ![]() From the top, Zagat.mobi looks great from this link (as well as the flash ad on their .COM website): http://www.zagat.com/about/about.aspx?menu=PR83 Is there a similar corporate PR link (and .COM website promotion) for AAA.mobi? ![]() Congratulations, again, on sole RFP Weather.mobi ... from its trial long ago with its (same) eventual suitor, The Weather Channel, it's good to see that one finally culminate, IMHO. What of the remaining three (3) initial RFP's ... can it definitively be stated here and now that they will NOT ever be auctioned? ![]() What are your thoughts regarding Comcast's decision to launce their "on the go" platform as: m.comcast.net Link: http://m.comcast.net Which city governments can we begin to look forward to seeing soon on their respective developed cityname.mobi's? Specifically, how and when is Google(.mobi) turning on the dotMobi platform of tools and services for their products and services ... and then being promoted in the mainstream? Quote:
Finally, for now, which venues will these be released (sold, if that is the case), and when (in how many total months)? Considering the plight of ringtones, news, and stocks ... how can it be assured that these domains will get properly developed with critical usable mobile content - getting these into the hands of qualified buyers (those that can guaranteed development with proper coding) who are End users/developers versus domainers/speculators (Usual Suspect™ or othewise)? For now, great to see the post and I look forward to further additional updates, and as always ... substance regarding the developed .MOBI "ecosystem", IMHO. See you soon, and enjoy the rest of summer friends! -Jeff ![]() PS. Quote:

I hope that MTLD understands that the more good content there is on .Mobi sites the more names they will sell and renew. I think mostly they do, but it is so important that I worry.

Pimp-daddy Neil states that he will be selling sex dot mobi via auction as per the following quote" "I blogged last week that sex.mobi will go on sale very soon. It is not a joke. We will be releasing approximately 500 high value names for sale in the coming months. These names will be sold through three to four of the well know online and live auction venues from September to next January. You will see more public announcements about the sale of the dotMobi premium names in the coming weeks." Let's see how many end up in Miami Traffic
