Well, you have the marketplace right here on NP and other forums, eBay, sedo, afternic, tdam (godaddy), and moniker all have places to list your domains for sale. Some are free, some have fee's and some you have to submit names to and get accepted (TRAFFIC auctions at Moniker).

My advice would be to hold on to them for a bit longer if you can. It's a buyers market right now, for sure. Unless you've got some really great ones, you probably won't get much for them now.

IMO I would hold on to your .mobi name because they have not fully matured yet...similar to the .info extension. They need more time.

Well, if you're simply looking to make a dollar or two, eBay or these forums might be the quickest way. Just remember, you will be getting re-seller prices, so don't expect much from either.

The best bet, IMHO, is to go after potential end users, as in any other TLD. But this also takes the most time.

Good luck

I'm more looking into what can I buy first...
I regged Codigos De Area . mobi recently, that's the spanish translation for Area Codes sold for 5800 on March. I think that one might have some value, but I'm really trying to find my way on what to buy to resell fast at the moment.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Very diplomatic of you. If people know of ways to flip domains quickly for profit, they are going to do it, not talk about it.

To insinuate that Mark and I don't contribute to this community is a baseless accusation. Zeekr, we're just pointing out the realities of the marketplace, you need to do your own homework and decide where you want to invest.

I'm doing my homework already. I've been reading this forum for two weeks now. Working on my own scripts. Trying to get as deep as possible as soon as possible into the domaining world.

Where did I say you must or should tell everything you know? I didn't, and in fact Mark's guidelines were a good reminder of everything I've been getting into lately. What itches me is that when I don't have anything positive to give back I refrain from making comments.. but that's just me

Glad to hear you are doing your homework. Are you new to domaining in general or just to .mobi? Are you involved in other extensions also? What's your background?

You're right, you didn't say we must tell everything we know. But you've got to understand that your request of "what to buy to resell fast" is a very tall order. It's like a new arrival walking into the California hillsides in 1851 asking the other miners to point you to the gold. It doesn't work that way and I'm just letting you know the realities.

eBay and sedo seem to be the good place to sell names atm, i have been looking over a few sales over the past few weeks on these two sites some decent prices for sellers imo.

I have sold a few mobi's on eBay, digital point forums, MSP forums and also had offers via SEDO.

good luck with the sales, but I do agree it is deffiantly a buyers market for most mobi domains.

I'm not exactly a "newbie" but I feel like it, at least in the domaining world. I have a background from several fronts right now but started as a web dev around '97. I've been regging some ccTLD domains since that year, but my first .com that I recall is from '01... my problem is I got from only dev to aff. marketing just 2 years ago, and I'm trying to get into real domaining just now. I've had some offers for some of my ccTLD domains but didn't sell because prices weren't good enough for me. Just yesterday was my best day on SEDO with earnings of $1 but I've been only parking my entire portfolio for a few days...
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/361721-best-places-to-sell-mobi-domains.html

So here I am trying to get my feet wet on .mobi as I have faith in it. There are more people with mobile phones than normal phones these days!

My question about flipping is because I think I can build my way up by doing that. I didn't expect anyone to give out their secrets, I was just asking for some suggestions. For example, do you think is better to buy some .com if the idea is to flip them fast and buy .mobi to hold?

I'll have to take a look at ebay, I have never used it. I'll probably find my way. So thanks for your help already.

I don't really think this is big grounds for flipping mobis liek their was last year for example you could pick up LLL.mobi's for low $xx each and then sell them off 6 months later for around $200+ each, ROI was very high...

if you invested into 100+ lll.mobi's and then sold them off this time you woudl make more then 5 times your money which is a great ROI in any ones book.

but now most of the decent domains have been snapped up its hard to flip domains, just do your research, their are still some great reg's out their I picked up 3 good ones this month for example .com versions of these ranged 10-20k, you can still get lucky.

good luck.

hey Zekr, i'll toss you some ideas...

- i've been finding the names available have largely dried up. unless you're going foreign language or pioneering some new tech idea, i wouldnt reg many names in August, on --

- if you do get a name or reg a name, do not broadcast that you recently acquired it and need to get rid of it -

- i think the marketplace here is a decent place. start from posts months back and see if people are still willing to sell some of those names.

- i am starting a site called mobituraries.mobi soon where you may be able to scoop up some bargains.

Zeekr,
I'll give you another piece of advice that I consider valuable: stay clear of regging in languages you don't properly understand and are fluent in. You say that you regged codigosdearea.mobi . That's Spanish, correct. The little problem is that if you are targeting people from Spain, they don't use that expression at all, they use "postal codes" which is written (if you want to get it) "codigospostales" (codigos postales)
I would love to get into certain markets where I see opportunities...but if I reg the wrong names, I am wasting my time, money and having hopes over something worthless. Not my way, really...

PVFARKAS & Skeitel, thanks for your tips!

As far as the domain I regged, my native language is spanish
Area codes means codigos de area and refers to phone numbers, what you say is postal codes or zip codes and that refers addresses... It could be another good reg if someone wants it!

We could team up in that aspect... if anyone of you want to register some spanish translations we could come up with something.

Thanks again.
