Just wondering if anybody else is having trouble with Moniker's bulk tld name checker. I've been using it for quite some time as it's one of the few I trust who will not share this inquiry to others. Noticed late last night that their new "check box" for tld system was not checking for .mobi

when I check .mobi under

"Check the entered domains plus"

I get results for many other tld's (which aren't checked) but no mobi results.

I've checked again today with same results. In order for me to check, I have to insert .mobi to the end of every name in the main search box. Am I alone here or has anyone else had this problem?

I check .mobis at http://whois.mtld.mobi . Haven't had any problems to date.

A fairly common situation in .com is that you search for a name one day at a registrar like GoDaddy, find it is available and then go to reg it the next day and it is gone. What may likely have happened is that they have logged domain searches on their site and sold the list to someone who regs the nice looking names on the list knowing full well that someone was already checking it out. No reports of it happening yet in mobi but I wouldn't be surprised if it starts happening soon. Best bet is to search at the mtld website and then go to the registrar and pick up the name. Got to watch your back out there.

Well I tell you that your hunch maybe correct, of course i can't prove it but the way ive been doing my whois' (during landrush), and the time that those particular name(s) were put into the premium name list (1-2days) is IMO beyond speculation!

Moniker's bulk checker can be very picky sometimes. If you have any whitespace, weird things can happen, usually the page will just reload and erase the form, sometimes it will check extensions you haven't put a check next to, and sometimes it will just freeze mid-scan. If I use it, I first run the name through http://premiumdrops.com/clean.php or DNF's TextClean.

http://premiumdrops.com/available.php is a pretty fast checker, promises not to log activity, but doesn't offer alternate checking of extensions. I use Domain Name Analyzer.

I agree that mTld's who-is is probably the safest way to go, but when your checking 40-50 similar names at a time, it's not too practical. I've been using Moniker's bulk system regularly but they made a change recently. Now, when you check off "check other domains", the default boxes that are now checked are different than they were a week or so ago. The are now: .com, .net, .org, .info, .mobi, .biz, .us, .co.uk and .eu

.mobi, which used to be on the bottom of the list, has now been moved to the top row.

Problem I'm getting is it's retrieving results for: .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, .tv, .cc, .biz, and .net.ag....but no bulk mobi results.
I have emailed them on this matter and hopefully it will be getting fixed.
