Adding new names to my portfolio that have both future development and end-user sales potential, and that meanwhile can generate some interest through parking.

I like webcourse.mobi. I'd say newbie domainers should stop regging -- I've seen junk I never would even have considered regging in .com lately... But your experience with domains is evident in your regs. If you can keep finding quality names like that, I'd say you have nothing to lose.

I got a very premium adult name in French about 1.5 months ago -- I'd say that if you resort to alternative languages, you may be surprised at what's left.

Using wildernesssurvival.mobi for an example, how would you develop it and what end user do you think might be interested in it?

In terms of parking income, it seems like porn names are way ahead of the pack.

Scandi, you keep asking me the questions that I were hoping you could help answer.

I am interested to know if my newly regged names are good choices for future development or end-user sales.

Well, I was looking at wildernesssurvival last night myself. I think it has really good mobile development potential (as long as you have a signal, that is ). It was my runner up to venomous (which I grabbed to develop instead).

I, too have been seeing some really "strange" reg's as of late. But, who am I?

I'll say the good ones (in English) are few and far between at this stage. There are still some "nitch market" type names that can sink or swim still showing up..but, even those are getting tough to find.

It's been overstated many times, but at this stage, development is still your best friend, IMHO

Good Luck!

The time to ask these questions is before you reg, not after. I will suggest to anyone, please consider the use of the name before you buy it.

What compelled you to register wildernesssurvival.mobi? Hopefully there was something about it that made you think it was worth reging in the first place.

stop registering if you are going to reg names like those. some of them look like the type of names that godaddy automatically suggests for you when you search for a name. names like ALL_____.mobi and 247 names and a bunch of others are all non generic and i would only get those type in .com. if you cant find anything decent to reg then buy something in the aftermarket.

wildernesssurvival.mobi has great development potential. When somebody gets lost in the woods, they can go to that website to learn how to survive. Either that, or call 911.

Mark, antivenom and antivenin were both available last that I checked, but if you get them you got to make sure you are providing the correct info.

Scandi, I got the wildernesssurvival.mobi because it has decent OVT of about 5k and there is a good chance that people might use their phone to get this kind of info if they are out in the wilderness.

Neil, thanks for your opinion, lets see if the rest of the experts think the same as you.

If you were lost in the woods and still had signal, which would you most likely do?

Now wildernesssurvival.mobi could still be an informational site, or a site selling an e-book on survival skills for hikers that can load into a phone, etc. But it most likely won't be for emergency use. I'm just trying to encourage you to think critically and creatively in regards to your own names, both present and future.

I Have a hard enough time getting signal sometimes driving down the freeway, you can forget about it in the wilderness.

I have decided to reg couple of more mobies based on the encouragement of some of the mobi experts here and based on my own instincts.

I Have a hard enough time getting signal sometimes driving down the freeway, you can forget about it in the wilderness.
MY thoughts on this were also geared towards the pre-hike stage of an outdoor excursion. Kinda like a "proper gear and supplies" for survival in the outdoors. You can have a section on edible plants, common little critters that offer nutrition, best gear for the climate and or length of stay. As stated, I was considering it myself, but I really have a lack of first hand knowledge on the subject to do it justice.

With 95% of my mobi regs, I have a developing plan for a mobile environment. I do not have the skills nor the budget to develop all of them, but with time, a good portion of them will get there. I will occasionally reg one that I had a general idea for and, as you have before, bring it up at NP for advice. We all think differently. I'm on record as stating that OVT results in the mobile world will differ from OVT results while you're in front of your PC...at least for the foreseeable future. So my advice there is use your common sense.

I don't think you'll recoup your reg fee's with parking on any of them. But then again, its a whole new domain world out there with this TLD. We're charting a course to a new world. Conventional "domain-thinking" may or may not be the best way to choose a mobi. Sure, there are a lot of instant-hits with weather.mobi, sports.mobi, stocks.mobi...you can go on and on with that. But will other non-mobile generics be a hit? Nobody knows for sure...yet. Will people randomly type in allpets.mobi or will they type in goodpets, greatpets, or none of the above. Sure, you'll get an occasional visit, but is that what you're looking for? My thoughts are they'd be more likely to type in specifics such as bunnyrabbits, turtles, dogs, cats, lizards goldfish, headlice, or any of the many other choices they'll have? Sure, most, if not all of those are gone at this stage, but you've gotta check. You'll occasionally be surprised and find a good one.

My advice is stick with your interests and think mobile for your new regs. They're are still some decent ones out there. Just harder to come by. In the meantime, instead of simple parking, pick a favorite one and start playing around with mobisitegalore....it's free and easy!

BTW, thanks for the anti venom suggestion, but on this, I can't think of a reasonable site to build on it (or much end user interest). If I didn't go check venomous.mobi before I played with that snake to see if it is harmless or deadly, then I surely wouldn't be typing in antivenom.mobi with my now-swelling fingers get what? At THAT stage, I'm looking for the nearest hospital.

It's late...gotta go to bed

Best Of Luck!
