| NamePros Expert | .mobi transfer after winning a SEDO auction: advice required Hi, I won an auction at Sedo last week and now Sedo wrote to me: Now that we have received the complete payment for the domain so you may now initiate the technical transfer of the domain. To successfully carry out this step, we will need you to start a transfer request for the domain from your registrar. It is often possible to do this online at your registrar's web site. Please visit your registrar's Web site and look for instructions on transferring a domain name. If you have not yet chosen a registrar it may be possible use the same registrar as the seller. This can dramatically speed up the transfer process and save you some registration costs as well. Please contact us if you would like to use this transfer option if it is available. ---------------------------------------- The Registrar of the seller appears to be Tucows and I never even looked at their website before yestarday, so I have no idea how bad is. If I transfer the name to GoDaddy or to Moniker , I assume I need to pay reg fee to transfer it , right ? If it was free the transfer I was doing the transfer. I have never done such action, so I`d happily listen to advices. Thanks |

| NamePros Regular | The best way is to use a registrar of your choice and pay. You will get another year anyway for most extensions. and maybe use a coupon. This way also if it is valuable, you can set up privacy options etc. If the domain reseller allows free transfers, then you could set up a free transfer by getting an account with them. You will need to find the reseller which has the domain. many use Tucows. . |

| Senior Member | Sedo is typically as slow moving as frozen snot so I prefer to do a push to a new account at the existing registrar to not give Sedo yet another excuse as to why they are taking so long. Then afterwards you can transfer the domain out to another registrar of your choice. |

| Eating Pie | http://referrals.tucows.com/ There is a list of their resellers there. You may choose one in your country ![]() It would be best to contact one of them with the current reseller's info and ask. I am not sure if you can or cannot. - Steve
