Can someone plz share any good selling technique?

Please share your selling techniques.

I believe there are few techniques like,

1.Search for the domain name that you want to sell in Google, contact the company/people whose website shows up in the result for that particular domain name. If you are lucky enuf, they may respond to you.

2.List it on Sedo and wait till someone interested finds your domain and bids on it.

3.Get featured listing for the domain name by shelling out $39 on Sedo.If you are lucky enuf or if you have really good name then someone may buy it.

4.Sell it on Forums like Namepros,DNForum and others.

5.Buyers may contact you directly using your email addr. in Whois.

6.Use service like DomainSurfer.com for your domain name and find other websites which has your domain name in their name or similar sounding name.contact them and try to sell them.

These are the only ways i can think of right now. If there are other ways to find potential buyers for the domain name then please do share with us.

I have seen many posts where people praise your registration but when you try to sell the domain there is not a single person interested in buying it.

I mean there is no point registering nice and decent names if you can't find a single potential buyer for it, or there are no buyers for it.

It's definitely nice to see so many big corporations coming up with .mobi versions of their websites. But if i'm not able sell even a single decent domain name then it doesn't make any sense to me.

Mention your .mobi's in your signature on this forum... Maybe it helps.

ipod, I think the issue here is one of timing. Jeremy has spoken many times in regards to 3-5 year window and I think it is a good estimate. You really can't expect to reg a .mobi today and turn around and sell it in a few months time. It may happen on occasion but it certainly is not the norm. Most people who are investing in aftermarket .mobi right now are focusing their holdings in specific areas, be it gaming, travel, geo, adult, etc. And much attention is on landrush names because they are most often of much better quality.

One important way to increase the likelihood of selling a name is to build it, establish some traffic and monetize it. There is nothing like a track record to help sell a name.

Scandi-

you are right when it comes to timing point.
And coming to the point of registering a .mobi today and selling it in a few months time,my opinion on that is i would register few .mobi today and try to sell in few months time for 2 reasons,
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=331258

reason1 would be to test the market and find out what people are offering for the domain you and others at Namepros think is decent and nice to have. And also help me to take the decision whether or not i should seriously develop it or sell it.

reason2 would be to do a quick flip and get the profit for funding the development of the other .mobi you are serious about. e.g. i'm seriously thinking of developing few of my .mobis but the only thing that is holding me back is the fact that i have already spend too much in registering .mobis.

And for your point of build it,monetizing it .... i totally agree with it.

Bottomline- sell few of the domains and generate fund for seriously developing the other mobis.

what is your take on it?

If you're overextended and are short on cash then you need to sell something or wait until you get more cash. That is how it works for most things in life not just domains. If you have to sell something, especially a recent .mobi reg, just understand that most of the people here are more interested in finding their own hand reg gem than in buying yours for a few hundred bucks so soon after its regged. Can it happen? Sure, but it is not very likely right now IMO, at least not on a domainers forum.

Yep. As for names I've bought, or am interested in buying, I have found 1 name registered in March that I'm interested in, a handful in the January - late February timeframe, however, the overwhelming majority are in the September - November timeframe. I've seen quite a few excellent names that were registered in November (i.e. antioxidants.mobi, my favorite domain that I own). Of course, I'm not really sure how many of them were failed trademark attempts (i.e. antioxidant.mobi was a September 26 reg).
