It's all about the marketing and we need more of it

It seems to me that what .mobi needs in the US is a huge injection of marketing. It could be billboards or tv spots, but an even better way to go in my humble opinion is to do a marketing partnership with a major sales outlet, say T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, At&T or any other one that I have accidentally left out here.

The .mobi people need to think of a nationwide launch that could put .mobi on the map, and we as .mobi owners have the responsibility to develop our sites (myself included) so the people who visit the sites on their phones have more to look at than search engine results that direct them to .coms which may or may not load properly on their phones.

What do you think?

i definitley dont want to see massive marketing for .mobi done yet. there are hardly any sites right now and barely any of the famous sites like youtube, facebook, flickr, etc have .mobi sites running so then the public would start trying to go to all these .mobi sites that dont exist yet or that are parked and they will get discouraged and not want to use .mobi again. give it a couple more years for things to build up and then start the major marketing campaigns.

I think that marketing from the U.S. is coming...it is just a matter of time. There are a large number of efforts going on overseas in other countries and that in itself has great promise. I think that DotMobi has come a long way from where it started. Considering that it took several years for DotCom to really catch on....DotMobi is way ahead of the game. Just be patient....it is coming. :-)

RING RING...this is a wake up call.

If you get it out there first and market it and brand it yourself, you are ahead of the game. Everyone else has to catch up.

Don't wait for "them"...it's all about "you".
