![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Prefix Poll Thought I would start a poll in mobi-land to see what opinions are on prefixes on dot mobi names. Do you think they're a good idea as an alternative to the "real deal"? Many of us (at least myself) can not go out and plunk down tens of thousands of dollars for a generic mobile relevant name. Not to mention, the much talked about reserved names that aren't available to date ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/329340-prefix-poll.html But, if a good version of a prefixed gem is found, what's your thought process? Example..I just picked up : iDiscounts.mobi Was real surprised (again) it was available as it seems to me a great name with lots of potential. To me, this was a no-brainer. I'm sure there are plenty more like this out there. Are they worth the search or would you pass and focus on keyword(s)?

My favorite live site example would be mPals.mobi. It's a great use of the prefix and is a superior name over mobilePals IMO. But you need to be careful to check for registered TM's. |

Thought the plural on this one was a much better choice though. Since this was the first venture into the prefix world for me, I figured that 1 is enough...at least for now

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The 'i' prefix is pretty established in the .com world, and works quite well with some words imo. However, I voted for 'm' for mobi/mobile, and hope it takes off big, as my only 2 'm' names are - mLocal.mobi and mSingles.mobi.

The poll (request for thoughts) is purely to see how others look at prefixes for the mobi ext for future regs. In other words...do you think it's worth regging mobi's with a prefix and if so, which one is your preference? As domainers, we have to think ahead to find success. I think it's nice for all to see how others are thinking and why. Looks as if m is winning at the moment. I find that interesting as i & e have a successful track record, while "m" is what I would consider a "start-up from a start-up". While it obviously makes sense, will it catch on? Best of luck to all who tread the prefix waters.
