I think that the dotMobi extension will be highly attractive for the Travel and Hotel Business. Imagine that when you are "on the move" for your holiday or business travel, it would be most convenient when you can do following actions with your cell phone or PDA device:

- Order/Change your hotel reservation
- Search for most suitable hotels at favorite places
- Search for most attractive hotel deals or discounts
- Order/Change your airtravel tickets
- Search for most attractive airtravel deals or discounts

Also some major travel companies are already investing in dotMobi domains, such as: SAS.mobi , Amtrack.mobi , Thalys.mobi , Hilton.mobi , Travelosa.mobi

Based on these business potentials of the dotMobi domains for the Travel and Hotel Industry, I have registered in last November 2006 following good quality dotMobi domains related to Travel and Hotels:

From an seo perspective "city"hotels.mobi names can have targeted traffic but I'm fond of strict geo names like "city".mobi which is typically a much higher search term and is more flexible for development.

It will be exciting if brands like hotels.com pursue and develop hotel and hotels.mobi.

The only site I am aware of right now that offers reservations is amtrak.mobi so obviously it can be done. When online agencies offer reservations and corresponding affiliate programs then it makes developing travel related .mobis much easier.

I have a .mobi domain im looking to actually develop with someone in the same field (unless i get a GREAT offer)..

I have TripTracker.mobi Reason I got this is to support ways to track your travel via the .mobi platform...Log miles, how many times you got gas, miles till next destination etc...I belive this could work and maybe even partner with a GPS type company.

Good point, Scandiman, I als noticed that the mobi website SAS.mobi of the Swedisch Airlines does not support online ticket reservations yet. But the mobi website does support an online check-in function, which is quite practical already. I hope that other major Airline and travel agency companies will soon follow the dotMobi deployment as well, like the Swedisch Airlines!

By the way, mLTD has recently released a "reserved" dotMobi name for the capital city of Finland: Helsinki.mobi

Travel and hotel names will probably be very big on mobiles and .mobi, but unfortunately not the type that you have in your collection. Most of those are non generic and non location based generics. For example, NewYorkHotels.mobi would be much much better than something like NewYorkHotelDiscount.mobi which is what you have.

NRMillions, Yes indeed, a mobi name like NewYorkHotelDiscount.mobi is not quite generic. However, I do hope that within some years (not too long from now..) a mobi name like HotelBusiness.mobi or TravelBusiness.mobi will have an interesting value since by then a quite large number of hotel companies has deployed their mobi websites already.
