The one issue we have to remember, when using Overture, Wordtracker, or other similar tools to assess the value of a domain name, is what percentage of the market does this name apply to.

If we take home school for example, the only people likely to be searching for it, are people looking for either information on home schooling, or supplies for home schooling. This makes the name valuable because the searches are targeted traffic. It's the same with my antioxidants.mobi site. Some of my even more niche names (i.e. the names of antioxidants), have overtures under 2000, although it seems very probable they will pay for their reg fees -- because they are so specific (well-targeted), ads offering products based on these particular antioxidant forumulations have very high CTR.

On the other hand, a name like originaltvsoundtrack.mobi is so generic, that it actually hurts it's value. How would you brand originaltvsoundtrack.mobi? Most of the traffic be unrelated to the particular segment you choose to target (unless you plan to "Walmart" the whole tv soundtrack market). Non-targeted traffic isn't near as valuable as targeted traffic. From people that type-in to view my antioxidants.mobi site, the average person views 5 pages. Clearly, the people who choose to view my site are interested in the type of information that is found on it. On the other hand, if I made my domain name nutraceuticals.mobi (a broader term which could include antioxidants), rather than antioxidants.mobi, and neglected to include anything but antioxidant information -- I bet the average person would view 2-3 pages, tops, because antioxidant information is not necessarily what they're looking for.
