Another Mobile Ad company: Quattrowireless

Today I received email from http://quattrowireless.com/ about their offering in wireless ads distribution. They offer pretty much the same thing as Admob and the third screen.

It looks like the competion for mobile ads is heating up. The odd thing is google is still not entering the space, that leaves a lot of room for startups to compete with each other.

Yeah, I just got an email from them as well. I'll be checking out what they have and comparing to what admob offers (which, IMHO, needs some user-friendly options for accepting and declining ads...which has been promised is coming). I like the idea that start-ups are competing for our business. There's no doubt in my mind that Google will enter as soon as they deem .mobi a viable avenue to make them more ...but, until then, "Let The Games Begin"...

In my opinion Third Screen is the leader for US based mobile advertising. The rest are world wide marketplaces with the majority of ads being served in Africa and Asia.

My second favorite is Millennial Media. They serve US only as well.

We (AdBID.mobi) are exhibiting at the MMA (Mobile Marketing Association) Convention in June in New York City. By that time we will have alot of new features rolled-out compared to our competition who's only goal seems to be to confuse the end-users. We are in the process of hiring a dedicated sales force and are meeting with Ad agencies throughout this month.

And can you imagine that we are not venture funded? But we do have the ability to use technology and our knowledge of the marketplace as our advantage.

Michael,
It's really nice to see you taking off with this in such an aggressive manner. I look forward to seeing the evolution of adBID and using your service as it continues to grow. The mobile friendly banners are a real nice and needed touch. Best of luck and keep up the good work. A true mobi pioneer,

Yeah, I got an email from QuattroWireless.com too. Must be they went thru the mobi showcase, and targeted the sites there. I'll listen to what they have to say, and evaluate it accordingly. It is interesting that they are targeting established mobi sites, and don't have their own name in mobi. Doesn't show much faith in their target audience imo. hmm...

Good luck with your adBid project mykel241. I'd be interested in exploring it when you have all set to go.

Help The Homeless - Holiday 2009
Thought I would report that I got a response back Wednesday from a rep. He sent me some info to incorporate the ads on my sites. I prefaced our conversation with "I'm not a programmer" and their site states "Best-in-class content management technology which empowers publishers to easily update and customize their mobile portal without the need for special skills or a dedicated mobile development or editorial team", yet I received a document showing how to implement their code that was 5 pages long, requiring much more coding knowledge than I have. Add to the fact, their sample section returned nothing. Wasn't working at all. I, for one, was not too impressed. I sent an email to the rep with my concerns. No response as of yet.

The issue is most ad companies do not make things simple. The overcrowd their pages with buzz words, long drawn out sentences that just ramble, etc. I like simplicity. I like to register, login, find what I want and use it. I do not like to read and try to figure out what the heck are they trying to sell me. Just give it me like it is so I can make a decision. Plain and simple.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=326633

Thats why when we started AdBid.mobi we decided to keep things as simple as possible and to ensure the marketplace was self-serve.

Michael

ps. If your not a publisher yet what are you waiting for?

Thanks,
