Hilton Developed Mobi Sites

Did you cats check out the mTLD showcase travel sites today?

Hilton has their own mobi along with their other companies as developed sites. There is hilton, embassy suites, double tree, and some others up there.

Check out the other showcased sections too. People are getting very creative with their development.

it's actually extremely impressive!!! .mobi stands a great chance

these large companies (statefarm, polo, nba, bmw, amtrack, etc. etc.) may see a need to protect their brand and control all the other extensions, but for what purpose or standardization would they develop hilton.net, hilton.info, hilton.biz etc.

now on the other hand ... all these companies have their .coms (and most other extensions for that matter), but they are also saying hey world 'we are accessible and have developed a site specifically designed for your mobile check us out at hilton.mobi'

Hilton and Doubletree is great news. It does not appear they did any additional developing for the .mobi sites but are using http://mobile.usablenet.com/mt to forward users to their main site.

The amazing thing is that all of this is happening and it is still very early in the game. Monetization efforts are in full development mode on several fronts. Visa coming on board as a backer to join along with the other dotmobi backers and the fact that Edelman is behind the PR (Public Relations) .... who knows what other mobi-positive announcements will be unveiled. We could be nearing that tipping point for public acceptance sooner than originally thought. Simply awesome thus far!
