Cool Mobile social networking patent sold for US$2.6 million

The mobile geo-location (GeoRSS) revolution will literally change the map and each persons' interface with 'place'. The web-wide adoption of GeoRSS data just happened a month ago and already really amazing things are happening. The price paid for this gps-georss technology is amongts the highest ever paid at an "intellectual property auction".

A hot market
"This patent covers a location based match-making technology. The system, working with location-aware devices connected to a remote server, allows users to make connections with other users based upon specified preferences and their distance. For example, a user can setup a profile indicating the types of people he would be interested in meeting. When he comes nearby another user matching this profile, a notification is sent to both."
And to think that had I said yes to several offers yesterday I would no longer own GeoRSS.mobi -- well its still for sale, as is GeoChat.mobi, but the price just went up! (serious offers always encouraged).

If your into mobile and not into Geo the new world just may pass you by.

Of course it will be because mobile devices are cheaper and easier to get than PC's, and easier to mass market. The mobile internet will be 100X bigger than the PC internet.

I don't remember the post, but someone posted here that the Trump Organization bought some of their mobis. They don't buy things that fail.

They bought the names from me. And you are right, they would not waste their time on a tld they were not interested in. I doubt they purchased the same names in .eu or .org.

trumpice.mobi
trumpcasino.mobi
trumpuniversity.mobi
trumpu.mobi
trumpgolf.mobi
trumpvodka.mobi

They also wanted trumprealty.mobi but I held onto it because someone else owns the .com and I may get more than the $100 they were offering. However, I may just give it to Trump because it would be better for .mobi if they used it.

For those of you who haven't heard this banter a thousand fricken times already, here you go: Anything that moves the mobiile web forward is a benefit for mobi in the long run.

why - 'o - why - would - you - say - that - la-bro-cca - ? (trying hard not to sound like a broken record of a robot mimicing a robot)
