| www.LLLL.com Forum Moderator | Something up with the March OVT results? Most of my names score 1/2-1/4 -- some 1/10th of what they scored in January or February... Even the word sex is down 600%. Is it just me seeing this? Are people really getting less horny that fast? Anyone have an answer to this weird phenomenon or am I the only one experiencing this (along with 'sex' domain owners)? OVT used to be one of the tools I used to use to assess what would be a fair offer on particular dotmobis, however it's pretty useless with this March update, unless you multiply every result by 6 to equate to what the keyword 'sex' lost? Is their transition to Yahoo resulting in less people using the services Overture reports? Any insight here is greatly appreciated Last edited by Reece; 04-18-2007 at 08:32 PM. |

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | Hey Reece, I JUST now was looking at some overture results, and I noticed the same thing. All of my domain words are down at least 50%, in some cases 90%. Something isn't right. This is why I use Wordtracker and Google to confirm things. I don't think these numbers are correct for March. |

| www.LLLL.com Forum Moderator | I'm going to have to check my names there ASAP... Hope they're not down 50% there too ![]() Just checked the Wordtracker scores... They're fairly close to what I received last month, generally 75-95% of January and February results. I'd imagine Spring Break, exams, nice weather(?) pulled the results down a bit? Sure is alot better than 25%-1000% down which I was getting before |

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | No offense, but I would prefer to search from the official sites. I had a name that got grabbed from me by using a third party website, I got datamined. And, it was a freakin awesome name too, I was not happy. Not saying anything in regards to this site specifically, it could be ok or not I don't know. |

| Forum Moderator Forum Moderator | Yep. Let me tell you what happened another time. I was looking for a way to check availability of domain names, and I found one that I thought was very cool because as soon as you type a phrase, it would tell you if it was available or not, in real time. Well, doing this I found a gem, searched for some other names for about 10 minutes, didn't find anything else. Then, I went to go register my gem, and it had been regged already. Checked the whois, and it had been registered that day. Also, I had checked Godaddy when I initially saw it, and it was available the moment I had searched for it. I emailed the person who regged asking them what was up, and they never responded. I'm sure this same tactic could be used for keyword searching as well. Again, I'm not saying anything about this particular site mentioned because I don't know it, I don't endorse it or not endorse it. If you see something that is a gem and you know it, dont waste anytime regging it. I have heard that some of the registrars do datamining as well, but I won't mention any names....
