Awesome, very good sign when a company like this launches. There will be MANY, MANY more where that came from.

It is fantastic. The first airline in the world with a .mobi site.

That only begs the other airlines to follow suit.

Even if it does redirect, atleast they are still being used and sas.mobi is shorter than mobileportal.se..

hmmm .. where's jeff to point out and question the redirect?

anyhow .. wierd for them to heavily promote the .mobi in the press release, but not have it resolve ... i guess it will just be easier for some companies to promote the .mobi and let the site actually default to something else.

Exactly. Why would it change anything if it redirects to something that you don't even see when using your mobile phone?

The question is what will they promote? mobileportal.se, with no reference to the name of the company?

If I try flysas.com with my mobile I don't get the mobile site, there is no autodetection.

CEO: That's great! What's the address?

web director: Well, let me get my notes, let's see here...its mobileportal.se/?__redir=1&si=sasint&lang=en

CEO: WTF??

Marketing Director: Can't you just use SAS.mobi? Didn't we buy that a while back?

Web Director: Sure! No problem, we'll just redirect it.

CEO: Great, let's go with SAS.mobi, I just read about that new .mobi in the WSJ.

Just did my bit... emailed the swedish contact in their press office & sent this 'innocent' email:

Hi,
just seen your cool .mobi site at sas.mobi!
will you be adding a link on your .com site to tell people?
i surf a lot on my mobile & i see lots of firms doing this now, foxnews.mobi etc
