![]() ![]() ![]() | Admob.com Has anyone had any issues with Admobs website? Since i joined them the site has been so very slow, especially if you are trying to weed out the low value ads, it can take a very long time to do anything! And of course we don't want to show .05 cent clicks if we have .58 cent clicks on offer!!! I did go to their forum but in their reply they said nothing to give me confidence that they were even trying to speed up their website as a whole, i'm getting fed up with it now and i'm looking at moving on to another PPC advertiser. Anyone have any contact within Admob or know of a better alternative???

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I am very surprised, Josh and his team are normally very helpful and fast in resolving any issues. I have coincidently sent a similar email regarding 'setting a bar' on lower price ads and rather than editing a single site at a time which is very time consuming, whether an option is available to change and/or remove lower price ads globally. I suspect they may be working on something and if I hear anything Chris I will let you know

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There are comments regarding their UI problems on their own forum as well. They must know about it and hopefully they are doing something about it soon. But without a competitor, they have little incentive. We can whine all we want but in the end have no other options. |

![]() | Hi all, This is Josh from AdMob Support. I wanted to reply to a few of your comments. GijsZePa: I'm very sorry you never got a reply to your email. I forwarded it to our Biz Dev team, because I figured they'd want to talk to you, and it must have gotten stuck in their queue. I'll resend it now; you should expect a response from them soon. scandiman: We're painfully aware of the UI problems, particularly on the My Sites page. We made some improvements about a month ago; we've got some small spot fixes (including bulk ad moderation) planned for the next few weeks; and we've got the plans for a total overhaul spec'd out and ready to be built as a larger, longer-term project. All: I understand your desire to set a minimum bid. As you are well aware, this is not currently a feature that we offer. However, we've suddenly had quite a few requests for this, all within the last few days. As a result of these requests, we are discussing the possibility of building this feature. You should bear in mind, however, that there are several advantages to leaving lower-bidded ads on your site. (1) A lower-bidded ad can earn more money for you than a higher-bidded ad, if it is more attractive to users. For example, a 5 cent ad that 10% of users are interested in will earn you on average .5 cents per impression. A 20 cent ad that only 1% of users are interested in, on the other hand, will only earn you an average of .2 cents per impression. (2) Having many ads available on your site increases your fill rate (which is good for the bottom line) and also increases the variety of ads that your users see (which is good for the user experience). (3) We do behind-the-scenes optimization for you, so we show ads with the higher expected return first. (As discussed in (1) above, sometimes a low bid ad has the highest expected return.) As there are more and more high value ads in the system, you'll see the low value ads show less often, so there is no need to remove them. (4) Allowing lower bidded ads attracts more advertisers to the mobile ecosystem. This will eventually result in more competition among the advertisers, which will drive up bid rates naturally. Conversely, setting a high artificial bound on bid price will result in fewer advertisers, smaller fill rate, and ultimately less earnings for you. These are some of considerations that we will be discussing as we decide whether or not to make a minimum-bid feature available. I hope this helps some. If you have any questions, you can email me at josh@admob.com. And we really appreciate all the feedback -- thank you. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=317660 Regards, Josh AdMob Support |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Josh, Thanks for visiting and for the reply. Glad to hear that improvements are under way. I appreciate your comments regarding minimum bids. It is worth examining deeper. Sounds like your plate is full but I have another feature for you to consider: I would like to give preference to .mobi advertisers on my .mobi sites. That way I know the links will go to .mobi compliant sites and it helps to build the ecosystem of this emerging tld. Thanks for being a pioneer in mobile advertising and for caring to improve your product. |
