.mobi traffic

I've noticed over the last week or so that my .mobi's are getting alot of type in traffic at the moment, more than usual. I'd like to think it's members of the public trying .mobi out, but i would be more inclined to say that it's .mobi investors poking around for available domains to reg. Has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed the same thing too. This month I'm on track to have the most typeins ever. Also, today I woke up to have the most type-ins in one day. It's a good sign.

Yes, I had mobi's parked at Sedo where they were getting some traffic (42 domains got a total of 68 hits in march, many numbers and CVCV). I tried many at Parked and they did receive numerous hits.

I have since moved most to NameDrive as I understand their parking pages are 5/5 for compliance. Most have been there for only a couple of weeks if that much. Thus far 27 have received traffic with one at for a total of 51. Some were just regged a couple of days ago. 6 are German words, 2 are NNNN.mobi, 1 Japanese word (13 hits), 3 are Italian related, 2 Spanish origin, and the rest are good ol' one word and one two-word english.

The Parked folks had deleted all my stats since I got pissed off at them and pulled all my domains (gee, only took 5 days for that to happen) but there were numerous getting hits there.

Presently at Sedo, I have a total of 15 with traffic...2 German, 4 Spanish, 2 adult related, 2 betting related, one N-N and the rest a variety. I have also seen the CVCV getting quite a few hits.

Who knows the source as I have not really had time to dig into this. The German names might be a result of the news from T-Mobile.

But, any news is good news.

FUX.mobi, developed, has topped 1300 hits on AdMob for the month thus far and that was with 6 days off line. A couple more not completed but nevertheless alive online are getting traffic also through AdMob counts.

All of this I think is a positive trend. I think out of 128 .eu domains I might have had 50 hits...total...for an entire year. That may be an exaggeration on my part...hits may have been half that.

Thanks to circa for making me sort out my lists! Makes interesting reading.

So far this month, out of the 10 .mobis (of mine) that get the most traffic;

5 are Italian
2 are French
1 is NNNN (2387 = 'bets')
2 are English and includes 1 surname.

Glad I bought Italian names...? Well, I'm thinking of changing my forum name to Captain Smugo...

I have 10 more hits on my names since originally posting in the thread this morning. Maybe it's the bad weather keeping everyone inside and on their phones surfing the net?

This is an insane spike in traffic for me at sedo.

Although I have not received any clicks yet.

my mobi's

I also have taken all my .mobi's from sedo to namedrive roughly 7 days ago. I have been getting some pretty good traffic with CVCV, LLL, NNN, and NNNN. I am noticing my NNNN's that spell good keywords are getting the most traffic. ALso I am getting some clicks by using the keyword "seo" on my parked mobi's as most lookers are people interested in domains.

It does seem rather odd that numbers are getting hits. 6337 (odds), be8 (bet), and a few others. Gambling, sports betting, and gaming gonna be big on the cellular???

In addition, the count at namedrive is up 26 since I reported this am.

COOL!

A variety of methods, including self promotion where ever and what ever I have to my disposal including other sites...mobi and .com.

Promote, promote, promote and cross promote each others' sites. A co-op effort per se.

I'm getting hits this morning, but I think it's you guys hitting.

Just bought 6 more .mobi's. Whoever said there are no good ones left is lying. No one words left that's true but PLENTY of great, short two words high overture and high wordtracker and google!!

I actually can't believe there is this much left. The ones I found were great.

I think after last weeks webbyawards announcments ( dotmobi was one of the sponsors), there is more exposer to .mobi. I have seen lots of hits to dir.mobi as well as it is now on webbyawards website as "official honoree".

Btw to promote more, I am going to issue a PR tomorrow about this official honoree and it should generate additional traffic. Most of the traffic eventually will go to sites listed as well.

Just gotta dig and know where to look...

I know Circa, I've seen your lists. There are countless one words, but not high searched ones or even medium searched ones left. I'm not going to buy a one word just to have a one word.

Would much rather buy a short two word with high searches on google & yahoo. Just me though.

Oh, and if you really do own mortgage.com please give it to me now

I don't own mortgage.com but I am sending you my mortgage.

Regarding one worders...before regging, I cross check many sources including OVT in many languages as well as google, yahoo and other search results.

I have had many of these receive good type in traffic as is which is encouraging and prompting me to develop.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=317248

And do not over look the CVCV...many foreign prime one worders here.

Plus, I don't post ALL my regs just like I don't publish my "private stash".

And my one bonehead move...cacoon.

Before I reg anything I check all these:

1. Wordtracker
2. Google (traffic and keyword PPC value)
3. Overture Ranking
4. See if there is a .com and what it is

I also look at these sources plus all extensions regged. I will even visit current websites.

To be honest, I don't put too much faith in OVT or google. I know that sounds odd. But if google results return 3 million but 75% of the results all point to the same site or subject, then it is terribly inflated. It would be great to be able to screen the same results down.

I'll look at the the first couple of pages, then go to page 10 or 20. If same results are appearing from page 1 or 2, then that's not too impressive.

That's why I always check multiple sources. Wordtracker I have not used much.

By the way, my mortgage is on the way.

I have officially reached a new high for monthly type-ins for my mobi names. This is even higher than back last fall when everyone was mobi crazy.

Yes, and the hits are still coming in.

When I reported this morning, the total for the month (at NameDrive) was 51. That's 51 thus far. Now as of this writting, the total is 104...53 just for today? And many of those were not on the list of hits this a.m. and some now have multiples.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=317248

A total of 63 domain names at NameDrive have now had traffic. That number was only 27 domain names this morning. 19 of the domains are a foreign language.

I assure you it is not fellow domainers as perhaps 75% of my list of regs have never been published.

While the money is not rolling in, this is still a good trend. Will it continue? Has there been some major news we are unaware of? Who knows.

Any thoughts?
