This is why I HATE Sedo!!

I put a name up for auction on Feb 1, (FreeCasinos.mobi as some of you may remember, I had a contest here). It completed on Feb 8.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/305817-this-is-why-i-hate-sedo.html

I still have not transfered the domain nor received my money.

Here is where it currently stands.

http://www.strictlynames.com/FreeCasinos-Sedo.gif

The guy handling the transaction says he is working diligently with the buyer. Yeah right!

I gave up hope around the 18th that the buyer would even pay. To my surprise, Sedo received payment on the 23rd. I immediately unlocked the domain and sent the epp code.

I sent 2 emails with no response to the emails. On the third email I sent one stating that Sedo should demonstrate why they deserve 10% commission on this deal.

The response was that he is working diligently with the buyer to get the name transfered?

It is my feeling that if they are going to be an escrow service, they should be the ones that take possession of the domain after payment is received and push it to the new owner... then release the money.

This whole deal should have taken a week at the MOST. I still have not received a request for transfer.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Fingers crossed,
Dave

Its ridicoulous to go thru all that.

The steps should be 1-2-3. done, thank you very much. I also think any change in the deal should be forwarded to you to ask if you want to proceed. For instance if the time to pay has not been met, the rep should not be saying, " I am working with the seller". The rep should say, the steps have not been met, do you still want to proceed as the buyer states he will make payment on ---- date?.

No communication means no management.

Just email Sedo and request to push the domain into their escrow account.

I had the same problem and was able to push the domain and get paid within 24 hours.

Good luck my friend!

Email Sent Feb 24th - 1 day after payment received.

Hi xxxxxx,

I noticed that the payment has been received for FREECASINOS.MOBI as
of Feb 23. If this has been verified and is accurate, here is the
info needed for transfer. The domain is unlocked.

freecasinos.mobi
EPP Key: xxx

Thanks,
David Sawyer
I did not receive a reply so I sent this

Email Sent March 5th

Hi xxxxxx,

The buyer still has not initiated the transfer of this domain. I
don't understand what is taking so long, it has been almost a month.
I know there was a problem with getting payment from the buyer, but
the money was received on the 23rd of Feb and it's now the 5th of
March.

Sedo definitely needs to figure a better way to handle these
transactions.. This whole transaction should have taken no longer than
a week... which is more than enough time.
I did not receive a reply so I sent this

Hi xxxxxx,

FreeCasinos.mobi
EPP Key: xxxx
Auction Ended: Feb 08, 2007
Payment received at Sedo: Feb 23, 2007
Domain Unlocked: Feb 23, 2007
Haven't heard anything since.

Any progress? Can't I just push this domain to Sedo, as it seems the
buyer has no clue how to transfer a domain name.

Please reply,

Thank you,

David Sawyer

Curious how many times I have to email you to get a reply. This is my
third email. Last two sent received no replies.

I would really like to get this transaction completed. Please
demonstrate that Sedo should earn its 10% in handling this
transaction.

Thank you,

David Sawyer
FINALLY A REPLY on MARCH 14 (not much help though)

Hello David,

I apologize for the delay in communication. I am presently working
diligently to get the buyer to initiate a transfer request for this domain
name.

Once I have more relevant information, I will be sure to contact you.

Best,

Hey Dave-

I think we all had out shares of frustrations with Sedo. But try to keep cool as sending candid emails to them will only backfire (speaking from my horrible experience).

best of luck in getting YOUR money soon!
