Let's tell endusers about the premium names at traffic

I think it would be a good idea if we personally contacted companies relating to the mobi names being auctioned next week to let them know about why a .mobi address would be perfect for them.

I really don't know if .mobi contacted endusers, but considering that none of the other .mobi names auctioned at the last traffic are developed yet I'll have to go by that they are all owned by domainers. Besides flowers.com bidding on flowers I don't know if any other developers/endusers were at the auction.

For example, we should contact: Pizza Hut, Dominos, PapaJohns, etc for Pizza.mobi. century21, re/max, coldwell bankers for realestate.mobi

It may be cutting it close to the auction but they can still put bids in over the internet if they were interested in bidding on any of these names.

If anyone has any high contacts or know of any at companies relating to the mobi names being auctioned it would be wise to contact them. If you don't know of any then just email every address you can find on their customers support, and whois info.

Got any ideas for end users of Europe.mobi?

So far I can only think of the tourist industry but not sure who I'd contact.

Cheers!

I would contact tripple a (AAA), Richard branson and his companies, etc.

Whoever contacts any company please report back with who you emailed, or spoke to.

This is a GREAT idea, albeit wicked short notice ... and my general feeling is that those decision-maker folks at the respective End users, again very much in general, would be like, "What the heck is an .MOBI?", IMHO.

Please share your thoughts ... good, bad, or indifferent ...

good point, not to mention that those corporate guys need to go through 22 meetings to get anything done, i have to think it's too late now

if traffic really has it's act together, you have to think they would be contacting possible likely bidders, most auction houses try to promote their products

Maybe the .Mobi guys should start spending some of the money they make from these auctions on advertising campaigns in business related magazines, tv and other related media to make end-users aware of the .mobi extension. .Mobi needs content and to get content end-users are needed.

if the mTLD is smart, they would have already contacted some of these people.

curious how the 1-800-flowers guy knew to show up at the last auction to bid on flowers.mobi

could be just a coincidence or maybe he attends the traffic events often, but i would guess that someone informed him..

hanogl is an unknown quantity at this point

I have spent several days to find potential users for my .mobi domains like stocks.mobi that were supposed to be in this auction. I sent out a significant mailing, but got zero response from endusers.

They just don't seem to realise the existence and/or potential of this extension yet.

Ok call me mad .. but wouldn't a viral video work well here .. something off the wall to pass around to your friends / youtube / digg and everywhere else you can possibly put it to get the word out?

Something along the lines of the mobile telephone adverts with the two kenneths or the tango adverts? Funny, tongue in cheek and off the wall for your mobile phones and free to download ..

I wonder if dot mobi have anything planned ..
