i registered mobiphones.mobi I'm thinking of selling phones on ppls mobile phones with this name!

I did see a lot of people registering mobiwhatever.mobi's we shall see where it takes them with some development!

There were a lot of these being registered around the initial month or so of open .mobi registerations. I think that if a name like this works, it'll be because "mobi" is also used as a more general shortened form of "mobile" unrelated to the extension. It doesn't make very much sense otherwise when seen purely in terms of the .mobi extension.
