Dr. MobiLove -- Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the 1-Year Mobi Reg

Got your attention with that subject line, didn't I!

I'd finally started to lose the manic edge to my .mobi registering, but now that RegisterDub has the 1-year registrations, I went for it again. Yesterday, I figured out what my favorite 20 were on my .mobi watch list, and regged them all. And seeing as how I don't have any really strong feelings for the rest of the names that I left unregistered, I doubt I'll get any more strong urges to register more. (Unless the prices drop to $6.95 or something like that at some point, of course.)

In any case, here are the 20 that I picked up:

Bobb.mobi
BotanicalGarden.mob
HomeInvestors.mobi
Hyat.mobi
iBoston.mobi
InvestorServices.mobi
LawPractice.mobi
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/297073-dr-mobilove-how-i-learned-stop.html
LendingOnline.mobi
LocalSchools.mobi
LondonParis.mobi
MusicVideosOnline.mobi
MyTexasHoldem.mobi
NorthernItaly.mobi
RateCalculator.mobi
ShippingOnline.mobi
SimCasino.mobi
SimPoker.mobi
SouthernFrance.mobi
SouthernItaly.mobi
SportsbookPro.mobi

I'm not sure I would have regged them all if it weren't for the drop in minimum registration, but I like them!

I thought I was getting better..

Same thing happened to me

I took about 2 days off recently from mental work of Dot Mobi name consideration.. first time since September 26th.. I had been a Dot Mobi guerilla since then.. I thought I had lost the Dot Mobi bug, then I came back to it and realized this Dot Mobi craziness is reality which will hopefully soon ease into the mainstream for us..

Then I hear its only $8.99 no more $17.98 (website.in ) to claim a Dot Mobi name. So I am back, looked on my list.. retired some names for mental relief on the "Availble Dot Mobis" sticky..
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=297073

The rest on my list I may consider a big buyout when I get the money.. a finale to this historic Dot Mobi landrush era.. as the treasure chests of available names "seems" to close.. I know I must just be stronger and work that much harder in research for the WHOIS game at this stage.. I've exhausted my own knowledge; now, I must discover greater themes and word pairings so that my watch list gets considerably longer.. for the big list buyout.. when I get more money

What's driving me is experience and the notion that if one day in the future we wanted to travel back in time to these days... we would be telling ourselves to keep fishing for more even.. for the continued chance to catch more big fish.. not just for ourselves, but for everyone else in our lives that we want to help uplift..

TIP: At this stage, with many of the biggest money makers "seemingly" gone, look into drafting those names that you might want to build a lifestyle around.. some things that you can see yourself doing in the future and enjoying..

How is it going for you guys with drafting?

Kind Regards,

Yelo

( Just kidding, of course!)

As WorldRadio implies, I didn't want to look back and say, "I should've grabbed those while I could have for a mere $10/each investment!" I figure these are worth a year's gamble, in any case.

You can buy at GoDaddy for one year also. Their system is defaulted to a two year purchase. I just reset to one year at check-out and then plug in a promotion code that you can find on NP, and it is then close in price to the cheaper options mentioned on this thread. Still a little more expensive, but I have most of my mobis there...so this way I can stay consolidated in one place and keep it simple.

IMHO it's worth to try to reg some foreign language keywords. For example I regged vissen.mobi (dutch for fishing, fish: Dutch OVT 15000) today. The day before yesterday I regged loodgieter.mobi (dutch for plumber: Dutch OVT 35000)
I think those names are better than most of the english domains i have seen regged lately..
A lot of French, Spanish or Italian keywords are also still available. Maybe smaller markets...but with much potential...

I don't usually bother with them, but given the relevance to the extension, thought it was worth a shot to see how traffic is once Hyatt gets a working .mobi. By the way, does anyone know if you can safely turn a domain like this into an affiliate program page for the non-typo, since you're only helping them, not trying to compete with them?

I had considered using GoDaddy for the 1-year registrations, but even after their 15% coupon, it would have been $3 more per domain than RegisterDub, who I've been using for months now anyway. I've saved thousands of dollars using them, even if their management interface isn't as good as GoDaddy's.

I've done a lot of of that already, but decided to stop, since I don't know the languages well enough to make the best decisions about how common the words are.

And by the way, before anyone asks what a "bobb" is, I don't know...I just liked the name. Another that I wouldn't have registered for 2 years, probably, but an easy name to remember, so it's a nice brandable.
