| NamePros Member | What else can you assume on the ovt besides the number of times it was searched by in the given month? Le'ts say we get a ovt of 20,000 from two words. Can you assume a certain percent will actually type this as a url? Any information to help me understand how you can use this is greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

I don't see this happening for a very long time if ever. Let's face it, 99% of the .mobi sites are parking pages or nothing at all. A browser default to it would be ridiculous to users. People would think the extension .mobi was owned by Sedo. One .com site I have has an OVT of about 10,000 for its single geographical keyword. While it ranks poorly since it has little content, it receives about 1,000 visits per month, of which only about 10% show a referring URL. So I get about 9% of the OVT as natural traffic. It will be a very long time before I get close to that % with a mobi. As has been said so many times before, development is the key.

| NamePros Member | Thanks for sharing Scandiman! I agree that the key to .mobi is development. I see mobile browsers defaulting to .mobi domains sooner than later. I couldn't even name any .com's that are mobile compliant. Having everything default to .mobi will make the entire mobile browsing experience much brighter! |

"Having everything default to .mobi will make" .mobi more valuable. Mobile capable websites with relevant content "will make the entire mobile browsing experience much brighter." These are two very different things that may converge, especially if some of the mobile search initiatives being pushed by carriers and mTLD have some consumer acceptance.
