| NamePros Member | FiftyStates.mobi I have registered FiftyStates.mobi with the intention of creating a resource site for all fifty states. To tie in with this idea and to help drive traffic I have also registered 49 of the 50 Stateof***.mobi names which have a combined OVT of over 500k with endless google results. This idea is not new but I felt it would be a great fit with the .mobi infrastructure. Subpage categories are endless with this idea. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks |

| NamePros Member | Thanks again to Think for selling me stateofnewyork.mobi which completes the set. I did look for 50states.mobi when I started this but it was already taken. I agree that it would make a great fit, though I really like LLLL combinations better than LLNN. FiftyStates.mobi will be the staging point with all fifty state names redirecting to it. It will take some time to build out but it will be well worth it. The prospects of subpages, content, ads are great. |

| NamePros Member | Update .... I started thinking about nrmillions' comment on "50states" and I went back and looked at the combinations. Turns out 50state (singular) shows up on OVT with almost 25k results, a much nicer fit than fiftystates which has no OVT. Google results are not bad on both names. So I picked up 50state.mobi. The question now is which is more brandable?... 1. FiftyStates.mobi or 2. 50State.mobi What do you all think? Thanks. |

| Senior Member | the high OVT score for 50state was most likely really for 50states since ovt does not distinguish between the singular and plural. I think its good that you picked up 50state.mobi though. Now you just need to buy fiftystate.mobi and then get 50states.mobi off of whoever owns it (I dont own it incase people are wondering) and then you can just direct 50state.mobi, fiftystate.mobi and fiftystates.mobi all toward 50states.mobi. |

| NamePros Member | Usually I would agree with that train of thought. But in this case, for me, the name FiftyStates is simply the place for the state names to migrate. It really could be any name. The traffic will remain the same unless that name in itself draws traffic too. This is the hard part because I agree that OVT is very picky with its results. Though I have found in certain cases it will distinguish between plural/singular (usually when you use quotes). In this case I believe the OVT stats are true yet the results saught were for the plural but using the singular phrase. What !? I know that sounds confusing but check the Google results for both singular/plural and you'll see what I mean. Different ways to get to the same result and what I find interesting is that it appears most word combo domain names use "state". So, in the end I'll just stick with what I have otherwise I'd be buying every combo I could think of . |
