As you all know, the previous Traffic conferenced saw some excellent .mobi's being auctioned for top prices. In four weeks time there will be the next Traffic auction. As far as I know, there will be no submissions by DotMobi this time. I guess they first want to see how the RFP process works out.
However, I am sure that other domain owners will be offering plenty of interesting .mobi domains for this auction. I have entered the following myself:
It has not been decided yet which ones will go into the live auction and which ones in the silent auction. If you are seriously interested in any of these let me know and I will make sure you can enter your bids even if you are not attending the live auction.
I've seen some of the other .mobi's you have in your portfolio (Girls.mobi, etc) and it still amazes me how you were able to get your hands on these My prediction: You're going to have a very profitable year in '07!
Also, I'm pretty sure dotMobi will be auctioning off names at this event. I got an email from a Moniker exec saying so.
This just in from Pinky. He said that he has no specific news at this time in regard to TRAFFIC WEST other than that he will be attending the conference.
I submitted the following .mobis. I don't know their status, but I did just hear from my Moniker rep today saying that one of my .COMs is being considered if I agreed to lower my reserve to a recommended amount (which I agreed to). [In case you're wondering, it was SauvignonWines.com, with a reserve of $1000 (I originally had it at $2000).]
Really nice names. Each stands very strong on its own merit. I'm sure a number of people are very interested to see what will happen in the auction with eyes on the June New York auction as well.
I got the same change of reserve email from my rep too for a .com. GL. I didn't submit mobi's to this auction as my rep felt it was still too early to get respectable value potential from them. Wish the best to those that did!!
I remember you posting about your rep's recommendation, and while it may very well be true, I figure that as long as I've set the reserves at a level I'd be happy letting the domain go for, I'll be happy if it sells at the auction. Clearly, I submitted a pretty long list (but only about 12% of all my .mobi names) -- I did so in the hopes of increasing my odds of getting something in there. I'd love to even get just one in!
I have approx 250 mobis.
I have a real varied selection imo.
I only submitted 3 though as don't want to tie them all up in the soppy contracts & the live auction which imo is a complete waste of time.
Have submitted:
caravans.mobi (imo premium - HUGE industry) the singular was tmed
wardrobe.mobi (massive overture, think fashion, not wooden closets lol)
can't remember third
cheers Arnie
