Valuation test

I am curious how you all will choose to value based on stats alone.

I have a .mobi that relates to web programming. A simple static informational site could easily be built that addresses the specific topic described in the domain name.

The Dec OVT is over 515,000 and the Google result is 1,380,000

Based only on this information, where would you place the value?

EDIT: additional clue: It is seven letters (LLLLLLL.mobi), one word. It is not specifically mobile related. It is a web programming term, searched for an estimated 1.8 million times a month. If I had to guess the term is searched for by novice and up level web programming type people.

I'd say Reg. fee+/- ... without knowing the actual domain name, IMHO.
Best of Luck.

Ever the skeptic. I commend you for being consistent

You hold this view even with such a high search result? SEOBOOK's Keyword tool estimates the total monthly search volume at 1,805,563. Those numbers need to carry to the mobi space at some level don't you think?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=284908

Any other estimates? I thought this would be a useful exercise.

At some level, perhaps ... but it really depends on the potential for REAL "Mobile Application" and usefulness, IMHO. Basically, we'd need the domain name to best assess for you, truly, in my judgement. This is not being skeptical, this is being realistic!

Thanks for listening, and see you soon ...

Agree with Jeff. Fact of the matter is we're not dealing with a .com where overture plus visitors and google results may equal such and such. .mobi is mobile device specific so the name matters tremendously. Is it 1 one word or 2? Is it short or long? Is it relevent/mobile in nature? These are important factors for valuation.

That said agree with ^^^ reg till more detail.

OK, I'll add some more information (will edit first post also). It is seven letters (LLLLLLL.mobi), one word. It is not specifically mobile related. It is a web programming term, searched for an estimated 1.8 million times a month. If I had to guess the term is searched for by novice and up level web programming type people.

I guess the question is will a web programming person use a mobile device?
