forum vs talk on mobi

Forum is 12 keys
Talk is 7 keys

Talk is obviously shorter as well. Do you think keywordtalk.mobi for forums will do better overall than keywordforum.mobi? Or is there a better word?

Just asking for some opinions as I think I want a couple forum/talk names in the mobi extension. I have yet to register anything lately for mobi but still researching. I have yet to really find a name I like that fits the extension.

Talk is 7 keys...
Forum is only 7 keystrokes and talk is only 5 -- on My phone, that is. My current phone is the new Blackberry Pearl that is rapidly becoming popular.

Of course, the new and heavily advertised Blackjack, as seen on countless TV commercials, only needs 5 for "forum" and 4 for "talk."

And who what phones people will be upgrading to as their current contracts draw to an end? So, I wouldn't worry too much about the keystroke difference between those two terms.

Personally, I always prefer "talk" to "forum".

Just a matter of preference though really I think. I doubt it'll make much of any difference in value.

Somehow I think that folks who are going to be active forum members will be prepared to do a lot more typing than that required by the url... unless your site is about people actually talking or listening to talk, like a talk show or podcast type idea. "Talk" could therefore carry a slightly different meaning - towards the radio or even tv applications.

Also, forum members usually bookmark their fav forums... I would focus more on the keywords that would draw traffic and especially the kind of forum that people would want to access on the go, like travel or shopping related.

I like "forum' better than "talk", especially if you are wanting to run a mobile forum. Just my $.02

All things remaining equal I will default to the shorter option. That being said, consider something completely different that would be a pure .mobi play...txt. As in teentxt, gametxt, partytxt, etc. Don't bother trying, these are mine

Benefits:
-4 clicks on a typical numeric pad.
-search engines already consider it a word due to the sea of .txt file on the internet.
-it is already the term to use for writing on a mobile device.

Don't think PC, think mobile

I prefer "talk." Not only is it shorter, but it fits in more with the .mobi extension.
