MOBIs and Corporate America (true story)

Hello fellow NP's. I have been investing in .com's since 1996. At the same time I have grown my swimwear business into the leading independent online retailer of designer swimwear.

Today I had a senor executive and a top sales person from a leading consumer goods company over to our offices. The senior executive pointed out that he was, with some scrolling, able to view our .com web site from his new cell phone. I brought to his attention that we have a mobi site designed specifically for cell phones. "A what" he asked? I directed them to our mobi site and their eyes lit up. I can not tell you the level of excitement this created.

It is so nice to see this level of excitement from top marketing people in corporate America. Your being here in NamePros reading the postings, gives you a great head start. When corporate America catches on, hold on and enjoy the ride.

Operating a web site which is rich in graphics, I prefer the flexibility of having independent web sites for computers and cell phones. As a marketing person, I prefer having separate sites as well.

By the way, while most of the super premium names might be taken, there are still some good investments out there, in my opinion. I just nabbed SUNSCREENS.MOBI . The ov and bid numbers are just ok but at $15.00/yr, I don't expect this to be anything but an excellent investment. I'll wait a few years for corporate America to start bidding. If mobi goes bust (highly unlikely in my opinion) I will write it off as the cost of doing business. Good luck to all.

This is indeed good news to hear. When the masses visit their first .mobi site and see how enjoyable the experience is......

Well how about that? Someone with an enlightened point of view about a new domain extension.

claudedauman - Your perspective is refreshing. MOBI makes sense for a reason and it's not hard to grasp. Good post.
