Here's my first announcement:

Military.mobi - finalized purchased $4,800.

I bought Military.mobi due to a remarkable, incredible OVT+EXT of 28000+. Also, the pay per click on OVT is $1.00+.

Basically, if you do the math Military.mobi is close to Flowers.mobi in terms of total payoff (OVT+EVT * PPClick).

What are your thoughts?

An excellant purchase Jeremy. I was just thinking of military mobi names today while conversing with a gentleman who is working on a law enforcement site for me.

I think you got a great deal although I don't think the metrics are as near as strong as Flowers.

Military is still a great keyword with excellant potential.

If we were comparing dot com sites military.com shows greater strength than flowers.com by traffic rankings:

After looking at those figures and figuring potential strength both keywords show strong in searchs and bids but it is clear that the potential for flowers in terms of search and bid strength is extremely strong in comparison.


All that said, I wish I had found military.mobi at the price you got

Congrats Jeremy on another fine addition to your portfolio. I have to agree though, that military.mobi is not nearly as strong as flowers.mobi. The post above pretty much explains the reason why. Also, I think a lot of the OVT with the .com extension was for people looking for the military.com website. It has an alexa rank of 2,738. Being former military it is a site I used to frequent quit a bit along with many of my buds.

Regardless, I think you got a great price on a great .mobi. Best of Luck!

The bid was $3,550. I bid $4,000 and just walked away thinking (like you) that there was no way I'd win.

I actually erased the SEDO confirmation as I thought it was a notice of losing the auction.

When I logged into my SEDO account, I was like - HUH?? :-)

It's a solid name. I'm not sure about value as everything is so speculative.

I wouldn't worry about the future value on .mobi too much (yet). The names that define an entire category don't go bad. Hell, they are even worth something in .biz!
