Yahoo! Launches Graphical Advertising

Yahoo! Launches Graphical Advertising on Mobile Web in United States
Introduction of Graphical Ads Furthers Company's Leadership in Mobile Advertising

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov 07, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) today announced the beta launch of its graphical advertising platform for its Mobile Web service in the United States. The first advertisements on this beta platform will go live later this week. This launch follows the October 2006 beta introduction of search advertisements, which together provide a comprehensive solution to enable Yahoo! advertisers to reach millions of consumers on their mobile devices via major wireless carriers in the U.S. This launch demonstrates Yahoo!'s continued focus on extending our leadership in graphical advertising and in mobile services.

The beta platform will support graphical advertisements across Yahoo!'s Mobile Web service, the #1 mobile Web destination in the U.S, according to M:Metrics (July 2006). Consumers will be able to click on these interactive ads to learn more information about the advertiser's offer or directly call the advertiser.

"Yahoo! has established itself as an early leader in mobile advertising and is continuing to help drive the growth of this emerging market," said Steve Boom, senior vice president, mobile and broadband, Yahoo!. "As the only company with clear leadership in all forms of Internet advertising and a leading provider of mobile Internet services, we are uniquely able to create and deliver innovative, interactive marketing solutions to a targeted audience of engaged consumers."

An industry leader in online advertising, Yahoo! provides comprehensive solutions across both graphical and search advertising, including customized research and unparalleled targeting and measurement capabilities, for major marketers and agencies. Yahoo! already works with a large majority of the AdAge Top 100 advertisers to provide brand advertising services, and the introduction of graphical advertising on mobile Web is another key initiative to extend Yahoo!'s lead in the graphical segment.

Yahoo! first launched mobile extensions of the company's leading services in 1999 and today, through more than 50 partnerships with mobile operators and device manufacturers worldwide, offers a variety of mobile services to consumers including Yahoo! This is a great day in news for the future of Mobi. Mobile advertising has to succeed in order for there to be a good mobile internet and for it to be profitable. With Yahoo taking this step we are off to a great start with Mobi. I just hope Yahoo uses Mobi as a basis for most of their advertising.
