SpiceGirl.Mobi, your ideas?

after 10 days surfing, I decide to pick the Domain SpiceGirl.Mobi

I noticed that the Domain SpiceGirl.Mobi was still available 10 days ago. You know that the Band SpiceGirls is still very HOT in the world, and the OVT clicks is 497,482

I was not sure I should pick this name at that time since there may have problem with this name because of "SpiceGirls" is a Famous Band. So I gave it up that time.

However, I find it was still available today, I could not pass it this time.. Really like it so much. "Spice Girl" not only the name of the popular band, but also a Generic name for Hot Girl ...

Then I checked the Whois of "spicegirls.mobi", "spicegirls".com, and SpiceGirl.com, and looks none of these domains are owned by the Band itself.

Finally, I decided to pick it. Though I am not sure about:

1) is there any legal issue for the Domain (SpiceGirl.Mobi) ?
2) What is the value if no legal issues?

Could you let me know your ideas on this?

about 20:1 ratio for the 2 terms

overture combines the plural/singular for searches.

Actually, I'm sure there would be TM issues with SpiceGirls, if used in connection with the band (who I thought were soooo yesterday's news)..

1) Spice Girl is a famous trademark, which begs the question, "what do you intend to do with it?" Development as a fan site?

2) The Spice Girls haven't released anything new in over 6 years. They broke up to pursue individual careers. Guess there's always a chance for a reunion.

3) 'Spice Girl' (singular) as in only one?

I hate to be a party pooper, but I'm not too thrilled about this one... but I feel your pain. It's getting harder and harder to find good available .MOBI's.

Rj, I can't find a live TM on it at uspto.gov. Girls is live. Do you have another place to search?

I wouldn't use it for a Spice Girl or Spice Girls site though.

You could always develop it into something for teen/preteen girls to use.
Girl oriented games and fun site. My daughter spends hrs playing dress up games. Just dragging clothing to a body. Then makes me look at every change. Kids

Yeah, that's why I asked the question what he intends to do with it. If its usage had anything to do with any of the classifications that the 'spice girls' trademark is applicable to, then it would be considered a TM violation. Just making it singular wouldn't except it.

I don't have workable idea on how to develop it at this moment. Just like it and think it is a good .Mobi Domain.

I may just park it and looking for buyers. And, if I will develop it in the future, I am not going to develop a site related to the Band. Mostly like to develop it as a site targeting to Teen Girls as klm390 suggested.

No matter what happened for the Domain in future, I enjoy in owning it today.

I just heard something on the radio about the Spice Girls. Was not paying much attention, I remember they talked about the political flap, but it seemed they were promoting an album or a tour.

I really don't have too much insight into the legal aspects of TM"s and w/ todays legal system, everything is contestable and they always have some groung to stand on. What I'm basing my thoughts on is that I see singular/plural TM's registered by completely different companies and even the same TM by different Co's (i.e Red Cross) Just what I'm seeing. Again I don't know, but theres some info to think about. I'll let my kid check it out if you get something PG going.

Unless it's developed I can't see anyone coming after this domain (if you park it). I recommend that you develop it. There are other extensions where SpiceGirl is free, too.. if you wanted to have a mobile & non-mobile site.

There are lots of ppl looking for bits of info at all times and places.

Maybe in the store and in need of a recipe/ingredients or cooking in the kitchen. Not that you are going in this direction but there will be a general need for misc info at any point, anywhere and I think there will be lots of mobi use based on that. Hopefully I will be able to trash my field books and get my needed info from my phone. Maybe

Or maybe Posh will do a Pamela Lee or Paris Hilton type video and you'll have the best name around. Cross your fingers on that one or pray to the Domain Gods.
