It depends on what the name is and what it is about? For a business then the .net might be the best option besides finding another similar .com name. If it is an information type site then .info could work well.

depends on what is your subject.
generally .org has higher value, but in many cases info would be better.

is your name more like SaveOurTrees (.org) or NewYorkFlights (info)?

also I presume .net is unavailable too? because if it's free it's better than .org or .info

Depends on what you're going to do...resale - .org, development of a non-non-profit - .info.

edit - if its good, why even ask, infos are .99 - get both.

If you're serious about your project, get both.

I'm partial to .org, even over .net. It gives your site credibility and is most likely easier to remember than .info, which many Internet users may not be familiar with. .Org looks like you're intentionally buying the name -- not because the .com was taken -- while .net and .info essentially scream, "The .com was taken so I went with a cheapened extension."

I usually prefer .info over .org, as mostly i buy domains for quick development or resale.
.info is easier to sell than an .org, but you get more profit when you sell .org

It depends on the name. My favorite is .org over .net or .info, but there are times when I would prefer the .net or .info.

Diabetes
I know for my parking experience and checking referral logs that more people will type-in .org than .net.

.com is king but between .net and .org, .org is better type-in and people have more "trust" in an .org. It almost seems that they will go "anti-establishment" and use the .org.

.org has higher resale value also.

Just my 2 cents.

.org

Nothing screams "We're late for the dance" like .net, and .info fits if the site is an "informative" site. For resale, .org wins in my book.
