I am just going state an opinion, nothing against either person.

If he asked for two LLLL.com's as blackmail, then that is wrong. If he was asking just to resolve the issue because of what you did then it may be ok.

For your comment about what other people on the forum has done, that's not the issue. It does not make what you did right or wrong. At the end of the day you were trying to sell something on ebay with no reserve, you are supposed to sell that item.

The point is that he won the item at Ebay, and you didn't sell that item.

Your at fault, not the buyer.

much as i hate cliches.... 2 wrongs dont make a right.

and i still stand by my first critique.... you should've listed it with a reserve if you weren't willing to potentially take a loss. and i, myself, have taken a loss on a few names for exactly that reason.... but i followed through.

and im not sure when/where we did business together (nothing with user id davepros anyway), not that it matters... i am not on a high and mighty horse...... point is, i LIKE ebay, and wish i felt comfortable buying and selling names there, but stories like this (ones not involving 'strangers' but fellow members on a forum i really value) seriously bum me out and keep me away. take that for what you will, but it's not intended as 'i am better than you' but rather 'i expect the same business standards from you as from myself, especially when it's difficult'......

regardless of what the rightful buyer may have done to salvage the situation (and in my mind such an offer is inappropriate, unless it came from your end as seller perhaps) the bottomline, which has already been pointed out, is that you are refusing to honor a sale. period. and that is still, in my book, LAME.

This is just another fact why many people are not buying domains at ebay.

By the way, the prices for tripple letters are down recently (according to recent The Price Guide, http://4letternoob.wordpress.com/200...m-price-guide/, the min.price for triple repeat letter is now $350 (before: $1800).

Do you think it is the buyer who is in advantage because the deal did not get through?

The bottom line is that DnTalks.com won your domain name on ebay and you didn't push it to him. As it's been said, you should have had a reserve price on your auction. It's bad business to not follow through with the sale and it's not really cool at all. It's definitely not a good idea to try and sell this domain here after it had been won on ebay. Who's to say you wont conduct bad business here as well?

I personally thought that the name was worth exactly what it ended for. I am also having a real problem reading Dave's posts without any comma's and his sentences blending together.

This domain will not fetch $850 this year. Dave had to have known that this would come back to bite him in the ass. It's hard to keep your identity a secret when your Ebay user name is a dot com, that you own.

Dave should have coughed up 2 low-end names and washed his hands of this bad transaction, or put a reserve on the name like anyone else would have.
