I would stay away from these guys. I had some domains with them that I transferred out after finding out about their protection of spammers and spyware peddlers.
If you find a site that is used for spreading spyware or other malware , there´s a good chance that the domain was registered with Estdomains and hosted with them too.
See http://blogs.zdnet.com/Spyware/?p=763 or just google their name.
I have been using EST for over 6 months now, their support is amazing, my questions/problems get responded to within 30 minutes, the most I have ever had to wait was 2 hours (Which is still good!)
I now have over 20 domains with them, and as with all DirectI resellers, their DNS update time is amazingly fast for us in the UK, unlike godaddy which I someones have to wait upto 3 days for.
I would highly recomend EST to anyone looking for cheap, yet reliable domains.

I'm holding a lot of my domains with them and had no problems with them so far. I was using them to catch info domains that were releasing and they were faster than GoDaddy. Perhaps I cannot say that it's a very reliable registrar but it's a very cheap registrar
Good point KEKTEX. I have not checked out your reference. But I am thankful to be reminded of this possibility, both as a buyer and reseller of domain services, not to mention webhosting. If you are correct, I can understand people wanting any such registrar just to 'horde' defensive domains that will never be sold nor used. But for only $1 more, there are totally reputable options.
They increased prices both for customers and resellers. Now it doesn't look so advantageous to hold domains at Estdomains because price for .com is only 20 cents less than GoDaddy Discount Club Price. Prices of .net renewals on the contrary decreased and now it's one of the cheapest place for .net holders unless you have Fabulous monetizing account.
besides, they recently suspended for a lifetime huge number of domains of their customers because of abuses.
Today, 09/21/2008 neither their hosting ESTHOST, nor registrar ESTDOMAINS.com main panel website are working. Support ICQ contacts are not responding.
Most of their reseller sites, though, are still working.
I would advise those who hold their domains at estdomains - to transfer away from them ASAP - to more reliable registrars - Moniker, Enom, Godaddy, Dynadot etc.
You should at least know authorization codes to transfer your names.
The main website ESTDOMAINS.com is unavailable now, but there is a working way to
login at domains control panel.
edit the file windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts in Notepad on your PC add these 2 lines below
this is the IP of myorderbox.com, which is related to LogicBoxes web panel server cluster.
you should be able to access their website now
and login to panel http://storefront.estdomains.com in your browser.
you should do the next thing now - go to control panel of each domain and copy their authorization codes - for transferring them then.
auth code is here -
Domain secret- Click here to view your Domain Secret over a Secure Connection.
Then you can initiate transfer of domains to your preferred registrar.

I don't think there will be a problem with them. They suspended all the domains that were connected to the spam and malicious software. They even overrespond to this situation. A lot of white domains were on risk to be suspended and were suspended because they were placed in different black-lists. So I think they do want to be in business. And it is ICANN accredited registrar.
I was with them only because they did have cheaper prices. Now, when prices difference is not big a part of customers will leave them. Majority of their customers are from Russia and Ukraine. The have their own niche - domain registrar that accepts Webmoney - Russian electronic money.
As for now, their only advantage is low .net renewal - just $5.58 for resellers that have more than 500$ spending.
unfortunately, transfer from them of domains with TLDs - .COM/.NET/.TV/.CC will be currently unsuccessful - because whois.estdomains.com is not resolving.
You can transfer now only .ORG/.BIZ/.INFO/.IN/.EU/.US/.MOBI/.WS domains.
We can do nothing unless wait now,
their administrators should somehow handle the situaton.
