Don't register domains through this company -- their $2.95 is a scam. Takes 24 hours to register your domain, which leaves your domain open for hijacking by someone else. This happened to me, they could never register the domain, and they refused to refund my money. SCAM!
Cheap, but support hassles make it almost not worth it

I've had mixed experiences with iPower. Until now they've been my sole registrar because they're so cheap, but at this point I don't think I'm going to use them anymore.
Most of my problems with ipower have centered around tech support issues. Without fail, when I purchase domains from iPower I will have a tech issue. It's not a matter of if but how bad. For instance, I just purchased about 8 domains from them, and of those 8 domains, 6 of them didn't have the DNS passwords set up properly. I could log into their control panel, but couldn't log into Tucows or into the domain name functions inside their control panel. It took 2 days and 15 million emails to get them to send me the proper passwords. And this was only the most recent time this has happened -- it's happened in the past as well, many times over. They must have some sort of trouble with their auto-password generator, or something, I can't figure it.
I've also had trouble with their online tech support. It's clearly outsourced to India, which I just have personal issues with. (I asked point blank once, they ignored the question.) I tried resolving my password issues with their online tech support and was told that my problem would have to be submitted to a "higher authority" (read: their domain transfer team stateside).
Anyway, it's not all bad. Their prices are great -- $2.95/per is a good deal. But keep in mind that that's only for your first 50 domains with them -- afterwards it goes up to $6/per. At $2.95/per I didn't mind quite as much putting up with the tech support hassles. But at $6/per I'd rather send my money to 1and1 or GoDaddy (and protect my sanity in the process).
I had a similar issue with iPower and someone else snapping up a domain name because it took them too long. Also, they do not do internal push, which means if you get lucky and snag a name someone wants within 60 days of its purchase, you just have to wait out the registrar lock.
It's not really hijacking insomuch as it's that ipower doesn't reg names in realtime. There's a delay. So it allows someone else who's maybe looking for the same name with a registrar that does registration realtime to get the drop on it when you thought you'd had it.
I hosting feed.net.au with iPower for 3 moths and I think I’m not going to pay them further.
Firstly I had just a simple page mirror and some bulky stuff on it.
But once I put script – funny things happening. They unable to give any technical support, ignoring questions and answering as automated robots.
List of problems for last 2 weeks
1. Regular interactions all http ftp and e-mail services with no explanations and they do not
want even admit it happened.
2. mode_rewrite module is not installed correctly. Looks like they fixed it 1 week later but never admitted though. I wait 45 minutes (!) for iPower customer support to answer the phone! (Thanks free Skype calls to USA) While rewrite _mode was not working still they closed ticket as ‘solved’ anyway, sending “customer satisfaction form”.
3. Spelling purl module is not working – they blamed my software. I do not bother to figure out why because it just works fine on other host.
4. My other site googlebay.com.au was flooded from 66.154.102.179 (GigaBlast ) since I’ve used iPower auto submit tool ! GigaBlast googlebay.com.au 6400 times in two days taking over 70mb of bandwidth!! I’m blocking they IP for now. Feed.net.au submitted the same way is not flooded. www.googlebay.com.au hosted on Australian www.Smartartist.com.au - NOT iPower as intended.
Resume – iPower is like BIG warehouse rented out to lowlife. An owner collecting rent but physically he unable to solve all domestic destructions. IPower is chip storage place for data you’d would not worry about like personal photo album or porno site. For more then that – grow up and move on.
I just regret I wasted so much time on this crap.
I made the mistake of buying a few domains from them. One of the worst companies I have ever delt with.....well besides dell tech support.
Customer Service: 0/5 Stars
I told them I would not be renewing any domains with them and it took them 3 days to respond back with "why?."
Usability: 0/5 Stars
Their control panel for chaning or updating is horrible. Two of my domains I received the wrong passwords for and they even stated they sent me the right ones. After 3 emails I finally was able to access my domains.
Price: 3/5 Stars
This is where they suckered me. The price is a great price but the cliche follows here without a doubt "You get what you pay for." So unless your a glutton for agony, annoyance and headaches have at it.
I have transfered or will be transferring the rest of my domains out of ipowers possession and avoiding these people like Yahoo Domains.
And I thought I was the only one with password problems!
I also have password problems with 90% of the domains I register with them. They do reply your emails but I just don't understand why they don't just get the password right in the first place! How is it possible to keep sending out the wrong password or logins time and again? Apart from the price, it's not worth th hassle

Like said above, their $2.95 is a scam and it does take a while to register it, I accidentally told someone else my domain name and they registered it!
They said that they'll refund my money, but I haven't checked yet...

These scammers are same as ipowerweb & should not be dealt with,, horrible, rotten service.. very poor, unprofessional, unreliable.. Nothing but nightmare & headache with them.. stay away!!
Everyone stay away from this bad company i regisiter a few domian name with ipower and after 2 day i find someone other have regisiter it .. how ? i dont no as iam not very expirnise on this stuff ... so i dont no at the biggening do i go register 4 other domain name with them .. and also host with them ..
i wested my time with them .. when i try to upload php script there is one error come to me i submit a ticket it take 5 days for them to respond when they answer my ticket it still not fix the problem and they ask me to wait till their CGI server to loading
anyway i ask them for the money back and they answer to call their billing department wish if i call it will cost me more money then what i need them to retern so till today they dont retren one piny for me .. so what dose that mean ? stealing my money ipower stealling people money for good....
Let me add to the 'stay away' chorus on these folks. They aren't even really a business since a business delivers value in return for money. iPower just gets your credit card and bills as much as they can. Watch your charges when you drop domains as they have just gone ahead and charged me for domains as a 'courtesy'
Somebody I know had about 300 domains with them and is in the process of dropping some and moving others. He couldn't get into some of them to disable the auto-renewal. Then after 45 days and about 60 hours on the phone with them, the technical issues still weren't resolved. So he had to just cancel his credit cards that they had on file.
Also, I had one domain come back as registered and when I checked whois a month later it was still available.
Here's I have known people who went to register a domain, got the non-realtime notification from ipower that the domain was secured. Then the next day the domain was registered by somebody else. Even more suspicisious, in some cases that somebody else listed an address close to iPower's operations in Arizona.
Again, not really a business, just a group of people randomly billing for stuff and holding on for dear life to whatever billable items they have by making it difficult to quit.
I will be clear of them by the end of 2008 and it will be a day of celebration when I am.
