Transfer my domains from weird site...

Hi,

Brought some domains off someone and they are placed in a control panel ''CPANELX'' most are you will be familiar with this i hope.

I want to transfer them to godaddy for free or cheap, Where and how do i do this as in the control pannel it has weird stuff like, Ftp webalizer etc....

You don't transfer them from CPanelX. You transfer them from the registrar that they are listed with, which usually has a place to transfer domains. You can go to whois.sc and lookup the domain and it will tell you what registrar they are at, if you don't know. Although not sure how the seller could sell them to you without this info.

You can push for free to another user if you are at a registrar that allows that. You cannot transfer to GoDaddy for free though. Your best bet if you must transfer is to wait for RegisterFly to have a $5.00 or $5.50 sale and transfer to there. They are pretty good and allow for free pushes, nameserver changes, etc...

There is also a rule that the domain cannot be transferred until 60 days after it is registered by the original owner and/or transferred to a new registrar. It can be pushed to a new owner on the same registrar, again if the registrar allows that.

Well He didnt give me the passwords to the actual website he brought them....

He claims he can transfer your domain to any registrar for free if you buy with him. It's basicallly a scam.
Most likely your domain is at a Tucows reseller owned by his "host" Sebastian.

Why not let your domain expires, then register them back at GoDaddy. Is your domain well known? I used to do that since it would probably be cheaper that way. And GoDaddy is the right place

So your telling him to wait a year and 40 days to get control of his name? Obviously he doesnt now. Lol
