how to know if a domain is for sale

I typed in the domain name that I want to see if anyone is using it.I got one of those "find anything" pages.What does that mean? It's for sell? How would I go about finding these things out? Thank you so much for your help.

Maybe it says "This domain is for sale" somewhere on the actual site.
If not Google around for the domain (plus extention) see if the owner is posting it for sale on a domain forum like NamePros or a place like eBay.

If you end up with nothing, do a WhoIs search on the domain and email them with the domain-administrative email provided.

You could check in the whois to see if there's any clues that the name is for sale. There could be "For Sale" nameservers, email address, etc.. that gives it away as being for sale. Checking other forums and websites that have names listed for sale is another option as well that's already been mentioned by Andy.

If they are parked somewhere then it is high possibility that they are for sale

You could try whois search at www.dnsstuff.com ... that site is great .
Go to the whois check box and enter the domain you are interested in. It might say that there is no match and that means the domain is available.
Otherwise, read the whois info...you might find that the domain is for sale and some other contact emails.

Best is emailing the admin contact, as been suggested.

You can also try searching in google.com, sedo.com, afternic.com, and of course namepros.com to see if it's been listed for sale.

try for expired and deleted domains www.domainbroadcasting.com .They check the pagerank and you can get a quick overview

that means its just being parked and not used for a website.

do a whois check and get their email. contact them.

Anything is for sale fir the right price. Feel free to make enquiries on any name. Bear in mind that the “right price” for many names that would go for $50 here could be as much as $5,000. Still, it can never hurt to ask.
