Transfering out form Network Solutions?

Is it possible to transfer a domain out from Network Solutions, and how much would it cost if anyone knows.

Before you ask... I havn't registered any domains ther but I might buy one of someone there.

Please help a domain newbie

Yes it is possible, the cost depends on where you transfer out to, eNom, NameCheap, RegisterFly etc... say about $8.

RF had a special $5.50 transfer, but not sure if its still on.

Nope, I did one not too long ago and was kinda surprised how quickly it was transfered, considering the bad rep NS seems to have these days.

I transferred from NS to RegisterFly and it was all rather painless. Wait until they have their 5.50 sale, which they seem to have whenever they send a newsletter, about once every week or so seems like and then do it. Don't forget to unlock the domain at NS though. They don't call it unlock, but something about Domain Protection...

This is something a lot of people don't know or just forget: to unlock the name
first before starting the transfer.
