Question Question about bids on this forum

Hi,

I have a question.
When someone bids on a domain on this forum for let's say $5, does this mean that they will pay $5 plus the registration fee plus the "moving costs" (if there are any)? Please let me know.
Thank you in advance,

J7000

Nope, in most cases there are no other costs involved in transfering ownership of a domain.

But what if I registered the domain for $8.95 and the bid is $5, does this mean that I will be payed $13,95 or just $5 and lose $3.95..?

Thank you for your quick reply -RJ-.

They pay the price they bid
Unless stated on your post that they'll be responsible for other fees

Thank you all for replying so quickly.
One more question though. The cheapest hosting service I have found so far sells .com domains for about $8. I saw a lot of domains being sold for prices in the range of $2-$6, so this makes me wonder... why would anyone sell a domain for a price like that, a price that's less than the amount payed to register it in the first place.

Cheers,

J7000

Because, regardless of what it cost, $2 - $6 is better than nothing!

exactly, sometimes if the domain is about readly to expire, and your not going to renew it, its better to regain at least a little of what you spent on it
