| well you should definetly read the whole contract, and make sure he pays you before you transfer the domain to him, I was just wondering what the domain you are selling him is. |

| I am sure the buyer will pay you before you transfer it, so you don't have to worry about that, and I believe escrow is a very safe place to do large transactions.. What are some of the things in the contract? |

· #7 | | New Member | well the biggest thing i see in the contract is that upon reciept of payment that i will transfer the domain....otherwise it's pretty much legalese for defining that i own it, don't owe on it, and am willing to turn it over to them!!
they recommended escrow.com, is that the best place to do this sort of thing ? |

| Escrow.com will pay you after you have transferred the domain.
1. Seller pays escrow.com
2. Escrow.com comfirms payment is paid and in escrow.
3. Escrow.com approves seller domain transfer.
4. Buyer confirms that domain has been received.
5. Escrow.com releases payment to seller. (also releases by default at the end of the inspection period if buyer does not answer in that period - use inspection period of no more than 3-5 days).

| Advisable to use escrow.com. They will hold the money until transfer is made and then release the funds to you. You should also decide if you want the buyer to pay the escrow fees or share the cost.
Definitely read the fine print.
If possible, do some research on the buyer to find out if they're legit. Is it an individual? A company? The contract should have these details. Also if they have other websites.
Be wary if they suddenly decide they would like to see a domain appraisal first before going through with the transaction, |

· #10 | | New Member | nope, they have agreed to pay costs with escrow.com, and they came to me with the offer...i wasn't actively marketing it other than a blurb on the site because i had closed my business. |

| Sounds like a real deal to me...
But if possible you should get a lawyer to look over the contract first, just to be safe..
I would also suggest Escrow, PayPal is not advisable to use on large domain sales, they offer you little (or no) protection on domain sales if the buyer decides to take his money back.. |

| Please do not use PayPal, use escrow.com or Sedo's escrow services, for your own safety.
Best of luck, and please let us know how it goes.

| Pay pal is not good for these kind of things. I'd stick with escrow.com you'll be safe with them |

· #16 | | New Member | Update everything went smoothly...the only hitch i ran into was updating my contact info with network solutions.....but that's a good thing, they made sure i was who i said i was!
escrow.com and hotkeys.com were both very proffessional and efficient.
did i mention the deal was for $5000?? hehee! i'm still giddy!!
do sites often go for this much? |
