I bought some .in's. I set up an account at DS, got a Portfolio ID, got the redirection script and redirected my domains there. I've read all the material they offer on their site but I still think i'm missing something.
Not once during the set up process did I enter the names of the domains I redirected to DS because I set up the account prior to purchasing the names. When I click Domain Stats the word 'unknown' appears under the domain heading - how am I meant to know which domain is getting the traffic??
Also i'd now like to switch off the pop-up's that are set when someone goes to the domains - how can I do this? Should I have a different Portfolio ID for every domain?
Sorry if this should be obvious but its not to me at the moment! Thanks for your help.
Everyone gets some "unknown" source clicks every now and then, don't be concerned with it.
As far as switching off the popups, click "redirection code" in the left hand column of the page.
Then under features click "exit popup" and "popunders" off, then click "get code".
The code that shows up will be the redirection address you'll need to get rid of the popups.

Using Domain Sponsor -
should I have a different Portfolio ID for every domain?
Or, should I have a different Portfolio ID for every type of domain ie one for IT domains another for business, another for travel?
If it possible to view which domains I have assigned to each Portforlio ID?
I'm find their system a bit frustrating as there's not a lot of info on their site about how things work and when I create a Portfolio ID I have to wait for them to approve it - so i've got lots of different types of domains forwarded using the same Portfolio ID. Maybe i'm missing something obvious here?
I have reported the auto referal feature as broken a few times to DS. They just reply back to me that 'it works'. It does not for me and seems not for you, you need to add the domain name to your link. I would up making my own redirect site just because of this.
I don't think it would be very hard for them to fix this to work in more cases, if they actually passed my bug report up the chain, instead of the 'it works' reply they kept giving. I gave up reporting it since they don't listen, but maybe if more report it they will see the pattern and relize there is a real bug in their code here.
You don't need sep portfolio ids, each domain can have it's own redirection code.
The only referral code that I know of that doesn't work for DomainSponsor is their "referral program" itself.

How to I create individual redirection codes? When I click Redirect Code - Choose Portfolio ID - I get the code that I use to forward my domain to the domainsponsor page:
Then cut and paste this code when I forward each different domain and edit in the domain address where it says domainname? That means each rediection code is individualized for each domain?
