Help! .com or .org

I had this domain name for a while now, I bought it so I can make a business website in the future, well I own the .com and someone else own the .org and he seem to have bought the .org a while back before I bought my .com, any how I wanted to know before i embark on my project if this is such a good idea, will it cause problems in the future since he someone else has the .org and I have the .com.

I don't think there should be any problem as long as you have .com. For further protection you may apply for trademark. Please note that not all names and phrases can be trademarked.

No problems that I can see. .com is a better extension than .org Buy the .net for your domain if its still available to gather more traffic in the future.

Well, if your business goes well, then you may buy .org from that owner.

it also depends on the subject, some subjects lend more to the org. But since its a "business website" you will probally be much better off with the com. Hey if nobody owned any other extenision to your name it would probally be a crappy name lol so look at it as a good thing.

I don't think the .org will take any traffic from the .com. In all probability, the reverse would be true.

Sounds like you're good to go!

Just don't infringe on the .ORG's trademark. For example, if the .ORG is redcross.org, don't build a non-profit disaster relief business on the .COM and use a big red plus sign as your logo.

I agree that you should grab the .NET and that the .ORG will bleed a little traffic over to your .COM if it has any substantial visitor numbers. Now go build.

I don't see a problem at all =) I have non .com domains that rank much better than .coms.

All the best!
