| NamePros Member | Some general questions about parking When you register a new domain name and park it, how do people find it so that you make money? I hear some people say they get 100s of uniques daily from their parked domain name but is that because it was an expired website with legacy visitors, or are there really that many people typing in "random" domain names?

| The Swamp Fox Forum Moderator | People find it via various methods - mostly from those that you mentioned above. There may be old links if the domain was previously in use or it may simply be a popular term. You'd really be suprised how many people type in www.______.com when they're looking for something instead of going to a search engine right off the bat. So it's not so much random domains as just generic domains that people are looking for. Sites can also get listed when you ad text and links on them that people click. |

Could have been indexed in one or many of the search engines. Could be a popular type-in name to find the generic product. Could be competitors typing to see who is there. Could be domain investors seeing if the name is taken, for sale, or developed. Could be a combination.
