Alexa updates when?

How often does alexa update? The reason I want to know is because im trying to find out some stats on a domain but the stats are only up to december 16. Any help will be appreciated.

No idea - But you should not rely on Alexa's stats to buy ANY domains - IMHO ....

They always seem out of date ....
They are to easily "Faked" ....
etc ....
etc ....

It needs to be updated at least once a week which it isn't. And if someone is using automatic hitters which is usually fake traffic then it will seem higher than what it really is.

Alexa as an indicator of traffic is completely unreliable...

Is there a way to measure or estimate a domain's traffic that you do not own?

Hmm. That could be the case in early times, but I still use Alexa and launched it again... ooh, look - there it goes again. If it was standing in the corner in a cheap cocktail dress at a party trying to catch my eye then I'd be avoiding it like the plague...

In order to prove that a domain is active or is well established, I like to look at the google PR number. I figure that most sites that are well established will be listed in google, and if so, they should have a decent PR number. (you can go to many google PR rating sites, or just download the google toolbar and when you visit a website the toolbar will tell you its google PR ranking).

does anyone else feel this is a reliable way to tell if a site iss well established or not?

Google PR is decided by amount of links in and the popularity of them coming in. But a site could get thousands of hits and not have anyone linked in so I think a combo of both.

Very true.. but IMO, Alexa should be the least of the equation.. very easily manipulated. Newer sites with very good Alexa rating might be suspect.

Yeah good point plus since it only updates like monthly not very accurate.
