selling a domain

The majority of my names are all registered with companies that have a 60 day rule about changing registrars...below is an excerpt from regfly's transfer policy.

"You agree that you may not transfer your domain name registration to another domain name registrar during the first sixty (60) days from the effective date of your initial domain name registration with Registerfly.com."

The question I have is this...Can I sell a domain to someone within that same 60 day period if the buyer has an account at registerfly, since the domain isn't changing registrars?

I've emailed them earlier, but still haven't recieved a reply. Any help with this question is Greatly appreciated!

Yes you can push a domain to another user in the same registra. Like if you sold a domain at registerfly then you could sell it to another registerfly user anytime you want. It's just if you wanted to push it to another registra like godaddy etc..

The 60 day rule is a rule that is set by ICANN, not the individual registrars. The registrars must follow that guideline upon signing their contract with them.

You can transfer a domain to another account with the current registrar. The only thing you can't do is transfer the domain from a registrar to another registrar within the 60 days.

As MĒtt said, you are allowed to transfer your domain to another RegisterFly user this is called "pushing". You can push your domains in RegisterFly by going under Manage Domain Names and clicking the link that says "Push domain to other user".

Not 100% sure, but I think its just 60 days from the created date of the domain. So if I created a domain and transfered to another registrar then I could transfer it somewhere else straight after.

Don't take my word for that though

ddrassociate is an unknown quantity at this point

I belive it's also 60 days after name has been transferred from one registrar to another. Say you register a name, you wait 60 days then transfer to a different registrar, I think you have to wait 60 more b4 you can do that again. That's what I've heard.

My question is: Can you push as many times as you want or is there like a week you have to wait for in order to push within a registrar after the name was already pushed.

Generally, no. The ICANN rule is only from the initial registration, I believe it also applies once you move to a new registrar, you can't move it for another 60 days. I think the original idea was that someone couldn't keep registrar hopping every few days or weeks to help avoid fraudulent transfers.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=60559

But.....Godaddy has their own rule that you can't transfer a name out of godaddy for 60 days after the registrant name is changed as well. Think about that before buying a name from someone within 75 days of it expring, or you will likely have to renew it at godaddy.
